The role:
Commodities are at the heart of many of the biggest news stories today, whether because of unprecedented geopolitical and economic challenges or the accelerating energy transition.
We are looking for a resourceful, creative editor to join the global Editing & Digital team at Platts, part of S&P Global Energy. You will be embedded within our News team and collaborate with reporters, editors and analysts covering everything from oil to agriculture to emissions trading within a real-time publishing environment.
You’ll bring a passion for news, an instinct for great storytelling, and understand how to apply journalistic best practices to ensure that content generated by market and news reporters meets our high editorial standards, is free of errors and libel risk, and is structured to have maximum impact.
In addition to handling our news stories, market commentaries/rationales, and thought leadership reports, you will also help to curate and enhance digital content on our website, as well as promoting published content on social media channels. Editors at Platts also play a central role in coaching and mentoring reporters in their journey to becoming strong content creators.
A genuine interest in commodity markets is a must, but we will provide full training so experience in this area is not essential.

Responsibilities:
- Editing a high volume of wide-ranging, complex, often sensitive content, at speed and under pressure
- Ensuring all content meets Platts News Essentials principles and house style
- Making sure all content is market relevant, accurate, legally compliant, and concise
- Publishing stories, podcasts, videos and interactive content on our website and other online platforms
- Promoting published content on social media channels
- A good understanding of GenAI and how it can be leveraged to create efficiencies and improve quality within the editorial process
- Protecting against GenAI misuse by content creators
- Displaying a strong degree of flexibility while working under pressure
- Working shift patterns to cover the time between our European and Asian market handovers
- Supporting editing workflow during US public holidays
Basic qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in journalism, English language/literature, communications/publishing, or business/finance
- 3-4 years of experience in news reporting and/or editing
- Understanding of journalistic best practices and media laws
- Excellent verbal and written English-language skills
- Attention to detail and good multitasking skills
- Ability to act both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills — must work harmoniously with other editors across regions and time zones
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience working as an editor, particularly for a financial publication or a real-time news wire
- Working knowledge of energy and commodity markets
- Proficiency in desktop publishing software, different types of content management systems, data visualization
- Working knowledge of social media posting and publishing
- High degree of literacy and numeracy

THE ROLE
Khan Academy is seeking an experienced and versatile assessment content creator to serve as a Middle School Content Creator on the Assessments team. - Contribute to the creation of K-12 assessments, leveraging your subject matter expertise to execute on blueprints to create high-quality assessment content
- Use and contribute to improvements in our content and item management systems
- Ensure alignment of items with standards and item development best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams – product, design, and engineering – to create more engaging, interactive, and informative assessments for our students
- Innovate with new item types made possible by AI technologies
- Participate in ideation and review processes for all MS math assessment content
WHAT YOU BRING
- Experience in large-scale, K-12 assessment development, including blueprint creation and item development
- Deep pedagogical expertise and expertise in state and national standards
- 2+ years classroom experience teaching middle school mathematics
- A focus on assessment as a positive experience integrated with learning
- Experience with collaborative work on time-sensitive projects
- Interest in using new AI tools as assistants in content creation
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written),as well as an eye for detail
- Excellent time management skills
- A growth mindset that is curious and energized to innovate and create something new for our students

The target salary range for this position is $77,600 – $87,300 USD / $104,862 – $117,969 CAD. The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.

Overview
Responsibilities

Oversee daily content operations across platforms.

Maximize editorial opportunities and to ensure insightful and impactful coverage.

Monitor content production across the network – including both free and premium.

Share and assign top-performing content weekly across free and VIP categories.

Ensure effective content distribution across all available platforms.

Manage team site news alerts and notifications with a focus on quality control.

Assist with social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok keeping an eye on content frequency and monetization.

Help drive subscription promotions and marketing campaigns, collaborating with writers on subscription promotions, upgrade campaigns, and retention initiatives.

Support cross platform content marketing and promotion content creation.

Provide consistent site training in all aspects of team site responsibilities.

Monitor referral traffic at the site and network level, identifying positive and negative trends.

Share CBS Sports editorial content and research notes with site staff and message board communities.

Drive quality control and appropriate moderation of message board communities, while developing strategies to grow collaboration.

Oversee quality control of team site structured data pages including commits, targets, etc.

Ensure 247Sports is producing innovative, high quality team focused content across all platforms that drives subscriptions and audience interaction.

Collaborate across teams and brands to maximize coverage and distribution that reaches the casual to invested fan.
Basic Qualifications

5+ years experience in editorial operations within the sports industry

Proven ability to manage multiple platforms including websites, social media, podcasts, and video channels from an editorial and operational lens.

Experience in subscription marketing, SEO, and community moderation.
