Enough about us! What you’ll do as a Video Editor: 

You’ll combine your creative flair and technical skills to produce broadcast-quality video content for News, Programming and Production across both linear and digital platforms. Day-to-day, you’ll support our fast-paced news operations, predominantly reformatting international content and editing assets for 10 News programs, while also gaining exposure to a diverse mix of projects and productions. Working with state-of-the-art editing tools in a supportive, high-morale team, you’ll have the chance to expand your skills, collaborate across business units, and engage in storytelling that informs and inspires.

Functions will also include: 
•    Manage the ingest, asset management, quality control, distribution, and receipt of News media assets across the network, affiliates, and third parties
•    Edit and deliver high-quality media content for News, Programming and Production using Avid Media Composer and other NLE tools
•    Prepare, QC, and adapt broadcast programs to meet technical and compliance standards across free-to-air, catch-up, and streaming platforms
•    Operate studio EVS systems (IP-Director, LSM-VIA and X-File) to support live studio productions, archive, and restore media assets
•    Contribute to pre-production and creative editing processes, ensuring all content is delivered accurately, on time, and to broadcast-ready standards.

What are we looking for in a Video Editor? What’s important?
•    Proven experience with non-linear editing systems (preferably Avid Media Composer) and technical literacy across video production workflows
•    Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail, accuracy, and editorial integrity in a fast-paced news production environment
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-focused approach and the ability to build positive relationships across teams

About the role:

This hands-on role involves managing diverse content across the client’s website, ensuring alignment with brand goals and standards. You will collaborate with the client’s Digital Content and Product teams to drive web and creative digital initiatives, focusing on content creation, optimisation, and effective digital storytelling.
Embedded in the Haven team, you’ll report into the Copy and Content Lead and be primarily focussed on digital content, with some input into wider brand creative and copywriting as required by the team.

  • Write digital copy for campaigns and promotions.

The Technical Editor – Senior is responsible for examining products to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as consistency in logic, clarity, and presentation. This role ensures adherence to agency publication standards, specialized subject matter vocabulary, and prescribed style guides. The Technical Editor – Senior amends and aligns tables, tone boxes, and graphics with textual content, confirms the accuracy of classification markings in accordance with Intelligence Community (IC) guidance, and collaborates with authors on narrative organization and further revisions.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Review and edit intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for clarity, logic, and consistency of content and argument.
  • Ensure that all products conform to agency and Intelligence Community publication standards, style guides, and the specialized vocabulary relevant to the subject matter.
  • Amend and refine draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text.
  • Verify proper classification markings and handling instructions for all products in accordance with IC and agency guidance.
  • Collaborate with authors to revise and reorganize product narrative for improved logical flow, negotiating further revisions as needed to optimize the quality and utility of each product.
  • Assist in the management of all J2 finished intelligence products approved for external dissemination.

  • Analyze, interpret, cross-check, and edit intelligence products to ensure accuracy and compliance with Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs),including but not limited to ICDs 206, 209, 501, and 710.
  • Organize information and determine the optimal method of presentation; create content according to established plans.
  • Ensure that completed products fulfill their specified purpose, audience, and mission scope.
  • Assist in determining and supervising the production process for completed materials, overseeing workflow from draft through publication and dissemination.
  • Document Operating Instructions (OIs) for command-wide programs and initiatives as assigned by the Government, standardizing editorial best practices and supporting process improvement.

 

Needed Experience, Skills, and Education: 

  • Minimum 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Master’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or have Bachelor’s degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master’s degree. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

The Leidos Intelligence Sector is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Editor – Senior, to support the USCYBERCOM J2 mission, to review, refine, and ensure the quality of finished intelligence products. The Technical Editor – Senior is responsible for examining products to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as consistency in logic, clarity, and presentation. This role ensures adherence to agency publication standards, specialized subject matter vocabulary, and prescribed style guides. The Technical Editor – Senior amends and aligns tables, tone boxes, and graphics with textual content, confirms the accuracy of classification markings in accordance with Intelligence Community (IC) guidance, and collaborates with authors on narrative organization and further revisions.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Review and edit intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for clarity, logic, and consistency of content and argument.
  • Ensure that all products conform to agency and Intelligence Community publication standards, style guides, and the specialized vocabulary relevant to the subject matter.
  • Amend and refine draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text.
  • Verify proper classification markings and handling instructions for all products in accordance with IC and agency guidance.
  • Collaborate with authors to revise and reorganize product narrative for improved logical flow, negotiating further revisions as needed to optimize the quality and utility of each product.
  • Assist in the management of all J2 finished intelligence products approved for external dissemination.
  • Research and collect information from internal and external stakeholders, including subject matter experts and relevant open sources, to ensure thorough and accurate product content.
  • Analyze, interpret, cross-check, and edit intelligence products to ensure accuracy and compliance with Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs),including but not limited to ICDs 206, 209, 501, and 710.
  • Organize information and determine the optimal method of presentation; create content according to established plans.
  • Ensure that completed products fulfill their specified purpose, audience, and mission scope.
  • Assist in determining and supervising the production process for completed materials, overseeing workflow from draft through publication and dissemination.
  • Document Operating Instructions (OIs) for command-wide programs and initiatives as assigned by the Government, standardizing editorial best practices and supporting process improvement.

 

Needed Experience, Skills, and Education: 

  • Minimum 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Master’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or have Bachelor’s degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master’s degree. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

 

Clearance Needed:

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Deep familiarity with USCYBERCOM organizational structure and mission.

  • Strong ability to quickly and effectively gather requirements, perform research, compile information, prioritize and collate, draft, edit, and produce high-quality documentation that satisfies customer needs with minimal follow-on work needed.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working in a fast-paced collaborative environment, ability to proactively multi-task and meet short deadlines, and possess excellent writing and grammatical skills.

The Staff Editor will be responsible for working closely with the Senior Editor and Senior News Editor to coordinate cross-platform content. This will include managing both routine daily news and breaking news situations.
