EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Mills James has a new opportunity for an Executive Producer with a strong background in commercial production and at least five years of experience. Our ideal candidate has a thorough knowledge of pre-production, production, and post-production. This role will be in direct communication with clients. The Executive Producer will need to be a creative thinker who can pitch ideas to clients to win new work.

The Executive Producer will supervise and direct a team of video professionals. This is a critical position that will need to offer after-hours access to clients. Not every week will be demanding, but this role will need to be available to clients with emergencies when the time calls. This role will manage video, audio, and design requests. The knowledge and ability to own a commercial project from start to finish is a must.

This full-time position is based in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management | Client Relations

Extensive client account management

Check-in with clients regularly to ensure the team is delivering

Become the single point of contact for the client

Oversee content creation for consistency

Provide creative direction to the team

Hands-On Production

Producer | Director

Work closely with content creators, editors, and graphic designers

Develop concepts, visual layouts, maintain brand consistency and standards

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Manage the creative process from start to finish

Possess technical skills that are involved in the creative process

Sales

Create capabilities presentations and proposals with the internal team

Pitch ideas and proposals to current and prospective clients

Establish project deadlines and content goals

Create and manage budgets

Oversee all budgets to maintain profitability

Upsell

SAG-AFTRA

Understand the COVID process dictated by SAG

Understand the ins and outs of SAG commercial shoots

Managerial Duties

Supervise a cross-functional team of producers, editors, and graphic designers

Prioritize work

Manage team performance review and development plan on an annual basis

Manage team schedules

Exceptional planning and organizational skills

Hire and train staff

 

REQUIREMENTS

Listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or and at least five years of experience working with commercial clients, and must supply samples highlighting examples of commercial production
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of pre-pro, production, and post-production
  • Ability to work with a production team on innovative approaches to capture stories
  • A background as a DP or Editor is preferred; we’re looking for someone with hands-on experience before becoming a Producer | Director
  • Ability to create production budgets and proposals based on client briefs
  • Understanding of brand work and how to turn client creative briefs into executable content
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced corporate environment, proactive, and can work on tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Experience and ability to effectively supervise a designated production team
  • Must treat deadlines with a sense of urgency, work well under pressure, and have a high degree of adaptability
  • Valid driver license required; US Passport may be required

Compensation

  • Production Assistant: $220/12

  • Camera Operator/Drone: $650/12 + $150 drone kit fee

  • Audio Technician: $650/12 + $300 kit fee
