Job Description
Role Summary/Purpose:
The Sr. Human Resources Manager is primarily responsible for providing operational HR leadership, direction and expertise for MSNBC Network. The client groups consist of exempt & non-exempt; union & non-union employees and contingent workers. By collaborating with the senior leadership team to provide a broad range of creative HR solutions, this role has the ability to influence short-term and some long-term goals. This role will support MSNBC and conduct project work as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and leverage HR processes (incl. Staffing, Benefits, Performance Management, Compensation/Reward Management, Learning & Development, Employee Engagement & Communication)
- Partner/collaborate with senior leadership team to align and execute HR strategies in support of operations
- Manages complex employee relations issues
- Develop and implement appropriate change management plans as required
- Implement and monitor adherence to HR policies, procedures and practices; Ensure compliance with state & federal laws
- Provide advice, counsel and coaching to employees regarding HR policies and procedures
- Identify, select, develop and retain world-class talent and ensure a dynamic pipeline
- Uncover, assess and propose opportunities for HR process improvements
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years professional level HR experience, including supporting an active and fast paced employee population
- 5+ years supporting a variety of HR functions, including, but not limited to, recruitment, performance management, compensation planning and organizational development.
- 3+ years experience working with computers, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

- Master’s degree (MBA, MILR)

- Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including U.S employment and labor laws, employee relations, management & leadership development, performance management, organizational design and compensation philosophies and knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal guidance or direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems with creative solutions
- Process and detail oriented, including strong organization, time management and prioritization skills

- SAP HR knowledge
- Ability to multi-task and work well under time constraints

Salary Range: $110,000 – $125,000; bonus eligible
