Job Description
- Manages the daily operations of units within the Electrical Maintenance and Projects Group
- Prioritize and schedule workflow through the department of both routine and assigned tasks and output of the technicians to ensure high show quality and reliability of assets
- Responsible for managing/scheduling activities for approximately 35 union staff technicians in Electrical
- Work closely with internal clients to identify and correct operational issues quickly
- Identify and exchange best practices including process and materials to improve efficiencies across all Universal Parks
- Project management and execution of electrical trade projects. Such duties include estimating, programming, planning, design development (minimal), construction document development, construction management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Ensure that jobs are completed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines and projected deadlines
- Ensures that collective bargaining agreements are upheld by partnering with HR and Labor Relations to maintain positive union relationships.
- Provides timely, ongoing feedback to clients regarding project activity and deliverables. Works closely with internal clients to identify and correct operational issues quickly.
- Manage and coordinate selected project vendors
- Provide work direction, counseling, and coaching to hourly union staff to promote safe and efficient operations while also exceeding client expectations of communication, responsiveness, quality of service, and technical efficiency
- Ensure that all safety procedures are understood and followed by providing up to date safety training to all employees and auditing procedures
- Manage department monthly budgets including deciding timetable of cash flow, approving purchase requisitions, and administer purchase orders
- Provide discipline to hourly employees when applicable
- Manage the installation, repair, and maintenance of critical facility and utility systems
- Responsible for scheduling and handling the regular testing of facility equipment
- Supervise and report on facilities system utilization, capacities, and performance
- Lead existing facilities procedures and implement needed additional procedures including regular review to keep them current
- Develop site solutions in support of various key infrastructure and business needs
- Receive invoicing and track against allocated amounts
- Vendor and contractor management
- Represent the Facilities team as the lead subject Matter Expert as it pertains to Electrical systems reviewing the proposed equipment schedule and redline/feedback as needed.
Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with over 8 years of experience managing union technicians; Or 10 years of experience as an electrical contractor managing teams
- Experience managing in a union environment
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of employees and management, and willingness to give assistance to co-workers in other areas
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, Proficiency in CAD drawings
- Experience working with CMMS systems preferred. (Maximo, etc.)
- High proficiency in Excel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project.
