Job Description

The Edit & Language Operations Coordinator is responsible for the coordination & supporting the proper assignation of the Video Editors & Transcribers for the Telemundo Enterprises and NBCU family programming across many platforms, including broadcast, Peacock, and Netflix.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for updating daily editing networks grids & highlighting any concerns or issues
  • Oversees and assigns client projects/tasks (i.e. Telemundo Network Shows) to Video Editors and Transcribers with varying shifts and work schedules, including night shifts
  • Responsible for maintaining the Telemundo Network’s editing status one week ahead
  • Utilizes software tools (i.e. Smartsheet) to manage personnel task assignations
  • Acts a key liaison between GMO and local team by actively participating in weekly meetings
  • Responsible for ensuring Xytech scheduling system is updated daily
  • Acquires and provides formatting information to editors
  • Supports the Manager in managing project budgets by highlighting/reporting & balancing any concerns on allocated hours assigned or already worked by Video Editors & Transcribers
  • Maintains and archives projects’ work data
  • Assigns Netflix, Hulu, One App, Peacock projects to under Manager’s instructions
  • Ensures that all material is ingested and ready to work on, prior to Editor beginning their assigned shift
  • Ensures that Programming Department provides the department with show schedules within enough time to plan assignation of workload
  • Prioritizes assignments by airdate/due date
  • Maintains excellent communication with Programming, Promotion, Traffic and GMO departments
  • Collaborates with Manager, Editing Supervisors, and team members to provide coverage while Manager is out of office
  • Processes department invoices
  • Works under the direct supervision of Sr Manager, Edit & Language Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager or Supervisor as needed

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with file-based platforms such as Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc
  • Fluent in English (both written and oral)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 & associated tools
  • Advance experience with smart sheet

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week

  • Fluent in English & Spanish (both written & verbal) strongly preferred
  • Exhibits ability to make frequent “subjective” decisions (e.g. determining the “severity rating” for quality defects, determining which defects are acceptable, etc.).
  • Exhibits a methodical approach to testing as well as a very focused and detailed attention to audio, video and film impairments and artifacts
  • Exceptional communication, time management, analytical and organizational skills
  • Self-starter who exhibits ownership on assigned tasks and who will push for solutions that solve immediate problems while building towards long-term goals
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environment
  • Accustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and manage expectations
  • Ability to effectively be flexible in approach, and respond well to pressure
  • Ability to lead and direct others, promote positive work environment and problem solves
