Marketing & Promotions Director – Trenton, NJ, Princeton, NJ
94.5 PST and New Jersey 101.5 in Ewing, New Jersey, owned and operated by Townsquare Media, is looking for a full-time Marketing and Promotions Director. This is a department head level position that reports to the Director of Content, but is expected to work on a day-to-day basis equally with the Director of Sales. In this position they will be the driving force behind organizing and coordinating promotional events, arranging on-air contests, creating/executing sales programs, increasing the visibility of the station in the community, collecting, organizing and distributing contesting prizes, and coordinating all promotional on-air activity. This is an “in-person” job working at our studios in Ewing, NJ, and requires some nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Continuous brainstorming–providing fresh solutions for contesting, promotions and events that generate revenue and drive ratings
- Work with the sales team to create and execute customized client partnership programs.
- Hire and manage promotions part-time staff and college interns
- Plan, execute and track revenue-generating marketing and promotional events and contesting that take place on-air, online and on-site
- Implement all aspects of on-air contesting
- Work with Digital Managing Editor to coordinate online contesting
- Lead at station promotional events, including set-up and breakdown of equipment
- Maintain vehicle fleet
- Plan and execute weekly promotions meetings. Manage and drive the flow of promotion-related communication
- Schedule and coordinate station talent at promotional events
- Plan quarterly calendar of contests, events and programs
- Manage the promotions budget the Business Manager
- Have exceptional organizational skills
Qualifications/ Education
- Need to be highly solution oriented with excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
- Be an energetic and outgoing person who thrives in a high energy team environment
- Previous supervisory experience
- Prior experience working in marketing/promotions within the same/similar industry preferred
- 4-year college degree preferred or equivalent education
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, PromoSuite and social media platforms
- Ability to stand for multiple hours and lift/move 40-pound objects
