ABC News is hiring an Executive Producer, Race Culture & Inclusion to lead the network’s continuing efforts to produce creative and award winning multicultural content and inclusive storytelling that is reflective of the communities we serve. The EP will produce at least five annual diversity specials that air on the ABC network, while also partnering with all shows and platforms to develop additional content aimed at strengthening our brand with diverse audiences, consumers and viewers. He/She/They will report to the Senior Vice President, Race Culture & Inclusion.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the editorial and production leader of ABC’s award winning diversity specials, which requires gathering production support from across the news division, managing relationships with studio & field production teams, overseeing production timeline, managing high profile bookings, working with graphics, marketing and PR, bringing projects in on budget and more
  • Partner with other Executive Producers to create multicultural content for all ABC News shows and platform, both within a daily breaking news environment and as part of long form storytelling strategy
  • Under the direction of the SVP, coordinates the work of the Race, Culture & Inclusion senior producers, a group of journalists who are embedded with our network shows and platforms and are committed to telling stories of underrepresented and unseen communities
  • Using the insights gained by ABC News Research team, identify storytelling opportunities that are compelling and relevant to diverse audiences
  • Collaborate with other Executive Producers, Race & Culture seniors and newsgathering teams to ensure there is a pitch process that supports and advances the work of the Race, Culture & Inclusion reporting effort

Basic Qualifications:

  • A leadership approach that fosters collaboration, innovation and inclusion
  • 8+ years of production experience, preferably within a fast paced news environment and with a deep understanding of best journalism practices
  • Experience overseeing field work and edit rooms and providing creative direction and oversight for collaborative projects
  • Proven storyteller with innovative approaches to multicultural programming initiatives
  • Communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively communicate and interact with people at various levels and in various disciplines of business and production

The hiring range for this position in New York is $258,100 – $354,860 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

Film and Video Operator and Editor- US Army Enlistment Required

Enlist as a soldier into the United States Army and become a certified Combat documentation/production specialists responsible for supervising, planning and operating electronic and film-based still, video and audio acquisition equipment in order to document combat and noncombat operations. Role Summary:

The Administrative Assistant, Physical Production will manage the day-to-day administrative functions for the VP Physical Production, as well as be prepared to interface with a variety of creative clients and high level executives.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist with all office duties (telephones, schedules, calendar, files, correspondences, travel, expense, reports, etc.) for VP of Physical Production
  • Assist in research of potential above the line crew hire availability and scheduling
  • Research special projects (locations, crew availability, logistics, liaison with film commissions, Etc.) during pre-production
  • Some of the responsibilities may include finding and setting up offices, ordering equipment/furniture/supplies, procuring of telephone access, arranging for security/parking access, arranging travel for producers, directors, and crew
  • Create welcome packet, preliminary crew list, and studio contact lists for individual production offices during preparation
  • Act as liaison between production office and studio with respect to policy and procedure compliance and verify systems are in place
  • Schedule meetings (production, finance, transportation, asset, clearances, computer support, labor relations, product placement, safety, insurance, etc.) between filmmakers and studio department heads specific to each project
  • Supervise wrap of production office and coordinate delivery of production files to studio; follow up on resolution of issues outstanding at wrap
  • Review deal memos for accuracy prior to executive approval. Verify crew employment eligibility through industry experience roster database; follow up on compliance issues through labor relations department and contract services administration

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years current freelance production coordinator or assistant coordinator experience
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows version 7 & 10.
  • Tech savvy on current Cloud apps: Microsoft 0365 and Google applications (i.e. sheets, forms, etc),
  • Familiarity with project management software like Scenechronize and Asana.

The Mastering Coordinator receives client orders commissioning mastering work and is accountable for ensuring that the work is accomplished, per Content Management specifications, on time and on budget. This role is also responsible for coordinating receipt of master file elements to support the company’s content supply chain.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for interpreting the customer’s order which involves translating a single, broad request into numerous specific jobs to be carried out by NBCU StudioPost Operations as well as 3rd party service providers.
  • Work closely with the customer to develop budgets and timelines for mastering/sub-mastering work.
  • Research inventory and historical records to determine the appropriate source elements to perform the required mastering or sub-mastering work.
  • Determine the appropriate workflow to complete each order meeting the required, specifications, delivery requirements, budget and due date.
  • Work closely with Content Management Mastering team employing their expertise with respect to materials history, specifications and condition of archived assets for a given job.
  • Constant communication with manager regarding status and issues related to mastering and sub-mastering work and to answer specific technical questions.
  • Coordinate with StudioPost Operations Project Managers to ensure the job is completed on time and on budget as well as answer questions from Project Managers that affect timelines and budgets.
  • Track and report job metrics such as status, work completed, work in progress and financials.
  • Participate with managers in the analysis and improvement of specifications, processes, and workflows.
  • Keep abreast of current technical specs and trends.
