Summary of Position

The Director, Global Partner Operations will be responsible for overseeing the operational execution and strategy of the domestic and international non-linear content delivery to distribution partners (including STARZ and Lionsgate+ applications, partner channel storefronts and affiliate On Demand products), launches of new partners, partner relationship management, and serving as a cross-functional advocate and knowledge leader in the company for non-linear tools, best practices, workflows/processes, formats, metadata and partner capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading a team of managers and specialists accountable for day-to-day execution of accurately distributing non-linear VOD content to all global distribution partners within deadlines, including motion pictures, original series episodes, promotional content and extras and acquired series episodes.
  • Establish and maintain successful on-going partner relationships with domestic and global affiliates.
  • Work with partners and internal stakeholders to keep STARZ current on technical and operational requirements, merchandising and storefront accuracy, scheduling changes, content promotions and researching and troubleshooting content and delivery issues.
  • Lead and project manage launches of new distribution partners domestically and internationally, including specification and requirement gathering, internal development requirements and prioritization, internal and external stakeholder alignment, testing and launch delivery scoping and execution.
  • Initiate, support, track and champion internal development requests for optimized content delivery workflows, tools and processes for continued improvement in operations accuracy and speed.
  • Manage vendor relationships that contribute to STARZ and Lionsgate+ content distribution.
  • Lead and develop team through goal-setting, evaluations, accountability and individual growth plans. Maintain high-level of operational work standards and measures of success towards the highest quality standards.
  • Grow and leverage internal relationships, partnering with programming, international, marketing, technology, business development and materials teams to support new and ongoing company initiatives.
  • Grow and optimize strategy and process for content display and merchandising at partners utilizing discrete best practices, including QC of storefronts, reporting of results and working with programming team on stunts and curated collections.
  • Manage special projects as needed for the non-linear team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Film, Broadcast, Journalism or similar; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years experience working in a television, media or streaming operation, or equivalent combination of experience and training, with 3 years of management experience.
  • Ability to stay current on the evolution of non-linear programming, competitors, forward-thinking capability requirements and content delivery strategies.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a cross-functional team.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with high-level problem solving abilities.
  • Preference for operating with urgency and effectively prioritizing in a dynamic environment, availability off-hours as needed to support a 24/7 business.
  • Knowledge of and interest in television and motion pictures.

The Technical Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing data follows proper workflows and naming conventions; managing our archiving and backup system; and being the main technical expert for the department’s internal and external stakeholders

What You’ll Do:

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving brand presence via content and community building through digital channels. This role requires creation of strategic programmes to engage with digital communities, partners and athletes to grow content distribution and syndication, looking for trends and insights, and growing overall digital revenue streams. The right candidate will be able to work across different stakeholder groups to proactively research, plan and identify content syndication opportunities and negotiate and deliver on these opportunities, whilst proactively developing, implementing, tracking and optimising content distribution programmes across various digital channels.

Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

  • Identify, cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships with a broad spectrum of digital content partners across all channels to drive content distribution and revenue growth.
  • Create strategies to build, grow and manage online communities.
  • Lead the end-to-end syndication of our content to key media partners and manage the ongoing development of optimised content syndication workflows
  • Work closely with colleagues across marketing, production and commercial teams to ensure that syndication and distribution of content is considered at the ideation and planning stage
  • Research and build relationships with media partners and content creators across the world of sport and entertainment more broadly (these could include publishers, creators, streamers, podcasters, bloggers, influencers etc)
  • Initiate, negotiate and close distribution agreements with key media partners across web, mobile, apps, streaming services and connected TVs
  • Work closely with the internal marketing and content teams to develop initiatives designed to increase content views and engagement levels
  • Work closely with broadcast delivery team to help deliver more value for rights holders through content and liaise with them on delivery formats
  • Working with proprietary software to manage content distribution
  • Onboarding and managing stakeholders to guarantee commitment and investment in the tools and project
  • Liaising with sports teams, athletes, broadcasters and sponsors for day to day content management
  • Reporting on campaign metrics
  • Presenting ideas, campaigns and strategies to clients of all levels of digital maturity
  • Understanding the latest digital trends, and reporting this back to the wider team and clients
  • Other duties that are within the scope of the role may be required.

You Will Have The Following Strengths:

  • Experience in a digital content distribution role.
  • A keen understanding of digital technologies, social media platforms, websites, apps and content production
  • Experience working with post production houses and understanding of types of media.
  • Experience with reviewing content licence agreements
  • Experience of building relationships and creating commercial opportunities through 3rd party publishers and outlets
  • Prior experience working with key decision-makers in the content distribution system is an asset
  • A passion for digital culture and sport.

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge and understanding of university sport and recreational programming and will possess senior managerial skills.

The next ED will possess a Master’s degree in higher education, student development, physical education/kinesiology/sport administration or equivalent, with ten years’ progressive experience in the leadership of large organizations. Experience in a postsecondary educational environment is strongly preferred. Significant experience in strategic planning, operational management, program development, and facilities management. Experience leading a large sport, recreation, athletic operation is an asset.

For this role, you will also be involved in stakeholder and key partner communication and management, so the ability to build strong working relationships is key!

What do I need?

  • Proven experience developing, implementing and analysing strategic digital campaigns and communications (e.g. social media/social listening, content creation, influencer campaigns, advertising)
  • Strong experience and understanding of using audience insight for digital campaigns
  • A strong interest in non-profit goals and an inclusive approach to climate change
  • Brilliant budget, time, and project management skills
  • The ability to curate innovative ideas for strategic communications
  • An entrepreneurial, data-driven mindset
  • A social media advertising expert (especially for Twitter, Facebook & Google)
  • First-rate English written and verbal communication skills (fluency in another EU language is also a bonus!)

Epic Dance Complesx is a Saskatoon dance school with a location in Downtown Saskatoon, has substitute and assistant dance teaching positions available for Winter/Spring/Summer 2023 and the September 2023 – June 2024 dance season.

Styles of dance taught include Preschool Combo Classes, RAD Ballet, CDTA Tap, CDTA Jazz, Acro Dance Teachers Association Acro and Hip Hop. Approximate teaching hours are Monday ‐ Thursday 5:00‐ 8:30, Fri 5:00‐8:00 and Saturday 9:00‐12:30 as well as daytime classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
