The School of Art in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Photography and Digital Media position to begin Fall 2022. The School seeks outstanding candidates with a commitment to creative research and production; an active engagement with contemporary issues and discourse; and demonstrated adaptation to innovations in a dynamically evolving field. The successful candidate will have an active exhibition record and a developing record as a teacher and professional in the field of contemporary art. Candidates with an expansive approach to contemporary image-based creation are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities include a 2/3 teaching load comprising foundation, intermediate and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in photography and/or video, including studio courses for majors in the candidate’s area of expertise; an ongoing program of scholarly research and creative work; and departmental, college, and university service. Areas of research could include but are not limited to photographic, video and experimental camera processes.

This position is part of an Interdisciplinary Cluster Hire program in the studio practice disciplines in the McGovern College of the Arts. The program is one of many initiatives that advances the McGovern College’s priority of achieving an inclusive and innovative climate.

The McGovern College of the Arts understands the value of a diverse faculty, of a diversity of approaches to the arts, and of approaching the arts as an interdisciplinary area of study. The College believes that such values are fundamental to the future of arts production. Search committees will give preference to candidates whose statements best represent these criteria when choosing candidates to advance to the next stage of the search process.

Qualifications:

MFA in Studio Arts with a focus in Photography, Digital Media or Video. Active exhibition record or other evidence of creative/critical practice. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate skills or experience that would aid in serving a diverse student population.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of college-level teaching experience beyond the Master’s degree; familiarity with art history and theory; and proficiency with foundation and advanced media software.

FOX 26 is looking for the ideal candidate a flair for the unique and an understanding of quality, engaging content for broadcast and digital platforms. An appreciation for compelling video elements and some basic editing skills will benefit broadcast and digital productions. If you know good video when you see it and you have a solid understanding of the value of word choice in writing teases, headlines, and copy, this position is the right one for you! The position of Creative Content Associate Producer will give you the opportunity to create and develop live stream shows and content from concept to execution.

As a hybrid position, the Creative Content Associate Producer will work to support the broadcasts with digital content as well as will also work with management to maintain a consistent content slate for the FOX 26 live stream and YouTube Page. Experience with YouTube Studio and the ability to spot trends in analytics are preferred. Experience with You Tube Studio is a plus. The perfect candidate must possess strong people skills, as you will be working collaboratively with other members of the news team. The position of Creative Content Associate Producer will need to stay at the forefront of digital content creative trends and technology. You should have a ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to problem-solve. Must be able to work under tight deadlines. Must possess strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters for mass media. Candidate must be willing to learn how to produce programmatic content for digital as well as broadcast including newscast.

A 4-year degree in journalism, media studies or related field is required. At least one year’s experience working in digital media or a smaller market is preferred. Proficiency with Photoshop and desktop video editing software is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of newsroom computer systems such as I-News, AWS and SLACK is a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license. Must be willing to work any shift as needed.

Role Purpose:
The Director is responsible for all aspects of physical production in a deadline-oriented news-based environment. The position is focused on making sure our productions’ schedules, budgets, and workflows are aligned. The Director partners with both internal and external clients to develop production budgets/plans and then oversee the execution of the approved plans. The Director works with multiple creative personalities and will be expected to remain cool under daily deadline pressure, while managing several ongoing productions. The Director is also be responsible for guaranteeing day-to-day production operations are well-managed and on track. Position regularly reports into the VP of Production Management & Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Production Budgeting: Planning, coordination, and preparation of production budgets with Creative Executives, Talent/Casting, Business & Legal Affairs, Finance and HR. Budgets should meet creative/operational/resource expectations and financial objectives. Partner with producers to develop production plans in accordance with budget. Review & evaluate prepared and submitted budgets. Ensure weekly cost reports are generated and reviewed for accuracy before being sent to senior management. Partner with production accounting team to make sure invoices and payments are processed in a timely manner. Create, implement, and maintain consistent standards for tracking and reporting procedures and policies for all content deliverables.
  • Production Management: Oversee production related activities on daily series to ensure productions are within budget parameters and consistent with creative expectations. Coordinate with Editorial, Business Affairs, Production Finance, Legal, HR and Creative Brand partners. Monitor production expenditures for accuracy, consistency and reasonableness. Stay up to date on various freelance crewing, vendors, and production technology. Perform overall production management role on all assigned projects, including assessment of production budget and schedule. Develop and manage internal timelines and workflows to guarantee timely delivery of shows.
  • Risk Management, Safety & Compliance: Partner with Environmental Health & Safety to stay current on Covid safety & compliance protocols and make sure these are communicated to production teams. Oversee Covid coordinator supporting Covid testing and scheduling. Ensure production policies and procedures (HR, Legal, Finance, EHS related) are being adhered to and continually update internal production manuals. Have a familiarity with union/guild agreements and rules applicable to our productions and communicate issues to production teams. Liaise closely with Production and Legal on risk management and all practical aspects of production
  • Production Administration: Ensure Agreements are signed; Payroll is set-up & completed with various payroll services. Make sure permits & insurance documents are processed and secured when needed for field productions. Review & approve weekly timecards for talent and others. Oversee Production Coordinators and confirm they are supported and able to complete assignments & requests.
  • Communication: Maintain consistent and professional communication across all clients and departments including Executive Producers, Talent, Marketing/Branded, Finance and Human Resources .

The role

We are looking for a Project Manager who can lead a campaign from the moment the client brief is received, all the way through to delivery. Accounts that this role would work on will most likely include Mars and Toyota/Lexus.

You’ll act as the lynchpin between all departments, ensuring work is allocated correctly, delivered on time and within budget and that all relevant stakeholders are satisfied with the work, driving projects that showcase the best of the Creative Production department.

iNDEMAND is looking for a creative, talented, and technically proficient Associate Editor/Producer. Ideal candidates will be experienced Adobe Premiere editors with strong writing skills and a passion for getting things right. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      Editing promos, trailers, social assets, and long form promotional content.

·      Updating graphics and navigating complex toolkits within Adobe After Effects.

·      Writing scripts for a wide array of promotional material.

Creative Content Producer Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce content in various formats using demos, screenshots, on-screen video recordings, and on-camera delivery
  • Creative and strategic planning of video and digital content around the social calendar
  • Idea generation and pitching in creative brainstorms and collaborate with other members of the Creative Team
  • Ability to aid the entire lifecycle from planning, development, storyboarding, recording, editing, and deployment

Le coordonnateur de production participe à l‘organisation de la fabrication du film et/ou de la série. Il est affecté à un département ou à un groupe de départements. En collaboration avec les Superviseurs du projet et sous la supervision du Directeur de production, il est en charge du bon déroulement de la production.

Responsabilités:

  • Planifier et gérer le travail du ou des départements en collaboration avec le Superviseur correspondant;
  • Recevoir les packages clients, organiser le rangement du matériel et fournir les éléments nécessaires au travail des artistes et du Superviseur (références et matériel, briefs, dépouillements, …);
  • Assigner les tâches et leur durée aux artistes en collaboration avec le Superviseur correspondant, en tenant compte des ressources du studio;
  • Veiller au respect des délais prévus pour chaque tâche – vérification et ajustement quotidien des échéanciers, et informer le Directeur de Production de tout dépassement;
  • Organiser et faire le suivi des validations;
  • Assurer l’avancée de la fabrication (à faire/en cours/reste à faire), sur les validations et les problématiques du département et tenir des rapports hebdomadaires et ponctuels pour le Directeur de Production;
  • Organiser et/ou participer à tout meeting concernant l’avancement du projet e.g. dailies, weeklies et présentations clients;
  • Maintenir l’organisation du serveur et de l’asset manager (Shotgun) et mettre à jour les documents de production;
  • Maintenir les communications entre les différents départements et membre de la production;
  • Mettre en place ou améliorer des procédures visées à fluidifier les transferts de datas entre les départements;
  • Maintenir une bonne entente et une bonne dynamique d’équipe;
  • Diffuser les informations pertinentes à tous les intervenants et vérifier qu’elles sont bien assimilées et appliquées sur le projet;
  • Assister et participer activement aux réunions des Superviseurs;
  • Effectuer des rounds réguliers afin de garder une communication fluide avec les artistes et pouvoir répondre activement aux questions sur le plancher;
  • Organiser les livraisons aux clients ou aux autres prestataires;
  • Faire le relai entre l’administration et les artistes;
  • Effectuer d’autres tâches connexes telles qu’assignées par la direction;

Compétences exigées :

  • Avoir au moins deux (2) années d’expérience en production de film, téléséries d’animation ou d’effets visuels;
  • Avoir d’excellentes compétences organisationnelles et de gestion de projet;
  • Être apte à coordonner une équipe d’au moins 10 personnes;
  • Avoir la capacité de travailler et communiquer efficacement avec des personnalités diverses;
  • Avoir d’excellentes compétences administratives, traitement de texte compris : maitriser les logiciels Word et Excel;
  • Savoir travailler de façon autonome et en équipe;
  • Savoir anticiper les problématiques liées la fabrication du projet dans son ensemble;
  • Avoir un niveau élevé d’initiative, de souplesse et de confidentialité;
  • Connaitre un asset manager comme Shotgun est un atout;

Job description:

The Production Coordinator participates in the organization of the production for the feature film and/or animated television series. He is assigned to a specific department or group of departments and is an integral part of the management structure of the team. Under the supervision of the Production Manager, the Coordinator’s main responsibility is to ensure that production runs smoothly while working in close collaboration with the project’s Supervisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan the workload for the assigned department(s) in collaboration with the corresponding Supervisor;
  • Receive packages from the clients, organize the material and provide the necessary elements for the work of artists and Supervisors;
  • Assign tasks and deadlines for artists in collaboration with the department Supervisor and in accordance with the available studio resources;
  • Ensure that deadlines are met for each task, verify and adjust the schedule accordingly and inform the Production Manager if there are any delays;
  • In collaboration with the Supervisor of the department, ensure that deadlines are met for each task assigned to the artists, daily verifications and adjustments of schedules;
  • Organize and keep track of validations;
  • Ensure the progress of tasks (to do/in progress/left to do), validations and solutions to problems in the department(s) while maintaining weekly production reports for the Production Manager;
  • Organize and/or participate in production meetings (i.e. dailies, weeklies and client reviews and presentations);
  • Maintain the organization of the server and asset manager (Shotgun) and update the production documents;
  • Maintain communication between the different departments and member of production;
  • Establish or improve procedures to increase data transfers between departments;
  • Maintain good relations and team dynamic;
  • Communicate important and relevant information to the team and ensure it is understood and applied to the project;
  • Assist and actively participate in supervision meetings;
  • Organize daily rounds with the artists to maintain communications and to answer questions related to the production;
  • Organize deliveries to clients or other recipients;
  • Act as an interlocutor between the administration department and the artists;
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of work experience in a film production environment, animated TV series or visual effects;
  • Excellent organizational and management skills;
  • Ability to coordinate a team of at least 10 people;
  • Ability to work and communicate efficiently with various personalities and different work styles;
  • Excellent administrative and word processing skills: thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Ability to work independently and within a team;
  • Ability to anticipate problems related to the project’s development as a whole;
  • High level of initiative, flexibility and discretion;
  • Knowledge of an asset manager such as SHOTGUN is a plus;
  • Knowledge of animation and/or video games production and a familiarity with 3D language/vocabulary;
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks at a time while remaining efficient and mindful of strict deadlines in a high pressure environment;
  • Bilingual (English and French).
