About the Role:

Global News Toronto is looking for an Associate Producer based out of Toronto. Reporting to the Executive Producer of Crime Beat, you will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of producing content for Global News’ true crime doc series Crime Beat. This is a Group 2 position in the current Collective agreement.

You’ll be working on things like:

  • Researching story ideas and content for full length true crime episodes
  • Chase producing and pre-interviewing subjects
  • Obtaining court documents
  • Finding compelling archive footage
  • Location scouting
  • Organizing files, overseeing transcription and helping identify great clips
  • Organizing interview and image release forms
  • Updating digital platform episode content
  • Coordinating episode promotional elements
  • Script and produce content from episodes for local and national newscasts and web – including updating, rewriting and refreshing information as necessary
  • Write and post content to various online platforms through social media
  • Scheduling field crews
  • Other duties as required

  • A job-related degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is required
  • Previous experience working in a newsroom environment in an editorial capacity

Summary:

The Manager, Paint and Sign Artists position is responsible for the direct oversight of the Paint and Sign Shop trades for Hersheypark, Hersheypark Arena, Hersheypark Stadium, and all parking lot line striping, with the additional responsibilities of various Sign Artist work at any of the Hershey Entertainment and Resort properties. This role is responsible for providing safe, well maintained facilities for the enjoyment and safety of our guests and employees.

Job Functions (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):

  • Oversee daily operations of the Paint and Sign Artists, including scheduling and job coding for hourly employees, creating preventative maintenance schedules and long-term projects, and coordinating with all maintenance department crews, other company departments, and outside contractors as needed.*
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Paint and Sign Artist direct reports. Improve employee communications and relations and ensure that all necessary training programs have been offered in accordance with government regulations and/or company policy.*
  • Assist and guide maintenance projects through providing cost estimates, monitoring costs, and communicating to all parties involved with projects. Schedule projects and ensure that they are on schedule and on budget.*
  • Assist in the creation and management of the annual budgets by monitoring expenses, maximizing productivity, and assisting in the approval of purchase requests, purchase orders, and invoices. Use CHAMPS Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for the tracking of buying and inventory.*

Basic Qualifications:

ART DIRECTOR

 

We’re looking for a driven and talented Art Director, with over 7 of years’ experience.

 

The ideal candidate must be passionate about bringing creative ideas to life. This position requires an in-depth understanding of imagery, composition and design, as well a strong ability to innovate and collaborate across departments and marketing initiatives.

 

You’ll work closely with the rest of our creative department, including the designers, makeup design, stylists, photographer, and multimedia team, and will be responsible for the look of the overall finished product.

 

You should be up to date with all the greatest and latest trends, techniques, and styles – from films and music, to art and fashion – and will constantly seek creative inspiration from different sources. Equally, you’ll be just keen to learn about our clients and their products/services.

 

You’ll know your way around the Adobe suite and will be able to produce work from digital scamps right through to designed client decks. You’ll be able to create fresh ideas using original sketches, stock libraries, in-house photography, and equally, be able to source original artists, who you can brief and direct. You’ll be as comfortable presenting work to clients and internal teams as you are briefing art workers and designers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years in an agency or in-house Marketing setting
  • Expert in Photoshop and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in animation a plus
  • Excellent design skills with portfolio work to prove it
  • Ability to communicate and show creative vision
  • Up to speed on design and creative trends
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Strong intrapersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong skillset for layout and typography
  • Banking / Finance experience is a huge plus!!

Art Director

French | West | Vaughan (FWV) is seeking a talented, conceptual and passionate Art Director to join its creative team in the Raleigh office. A strong graphic and web design background is a must, as well as experience crafting, producing and presenting big-idea campaigns across all media. We’re looking for a storyteller who sweats the details and loves working within an integrated team and a fast-paced agency. The right candidate will have experience working closely with copywriters, photographers, directors, editors and production teams. You should be highly organized, deadline driven, client loving, coworker supporting and motivated to collaborate across agency departments. An integrated portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and proficiency in graphic design and art direction across all channels is a must.

At FWV, work spans all traditional and digital channels, including print, collateral, TV, social media, web, new business, and agency marketing efforts. Video editing and motion graphic skills will be considered a great plus. Experience with consumer brands in tech, western, outdoor, travel and tourism, and the pet industry would be amazing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with copywriters, account, client and production teams to concept and execute original and effective marketing campaigns
  2. Develop creative strategies focused on innovative and results driven solutions
  3. Develop logos, websites, collateral and advertising ideas
  4. Oversee printing, web development and TV/film production
  5. Present ideas and strategies with excitement and clarity, both internally and to clients
  6. Develop strategic ideas and help craft the agency’s approach in new business efforts
  7. Manage multiple projects and deadlines, pivot to client feedback, while still delivering effective creative solutions

Requirements:

  1. Digital portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking and creative strategy, with examples of art direction across advertising, social, web and collateral
  2. Six-plus years of experience (creative agency experience strongly preferred)
  3. Four-year degree in communications, marketing or advertising preferred
  4. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Google slides, docs and drive
  5. Experience directing photo and video production, video editing and motion graphic design
  6. Advanced knowledge of print and digital production, banner design and UX design
  7. Strong leadership, collaborative problem-solving and communication skills
  8. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
