PRODUCTION GRAPHIC DESIGNER
We are a consumer-packaged goods company located in the heart of downtown Montreal, that manufactures, develops, designs and markets consumer products our own brands as well as licensed brands. We are currently seeking a Production Graphic Designer who is hands on and committed with a “can do” attitude who is creative and has strong packaging experience. Working within the graphic design group, as part of the larger marketing department you will have to demonstrate good adaptability, flexibility, conscientiousness, and a positive attitude.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Director, Brand Marketing and Creative Vision, you are innovative, hard-working and ready to join a fun and close-knit marketing team. The Production Graphic Designer will create packaging and digital assets based on brand style guides and assist with internal requests for various needs. You will help send and manage all internal files, and ensure communications with our overseas manufacturers are clear and efficient. You will play a pivotal role representing our brand messaging through creative and visual means. The person in this role will be accountable for ensuring graphic design projects are delivered on time and of the highest quality.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as part of a design team to develop content that engages and inspires our customers/consumers while adhering to company brand guidelines ie. Advertising, sell sheets, product packaging, online assets, presentations, etc…
- Provide graphic design support for projects including packaging layout alterations, photography manipulation, and resizing existing creative designs
- Research and provide recommendations based on best practices as well as industry and consumer trends
- Coordinate and monitor projects with other internal departments (i.e. product management) and external suppliers;
- Conceptual ideas that can translate into well-crafted design solutions
- Balance creative thinking with time management
- Have an in-depth understanding of imagery, composition and design, as well a strong ability to communicate and collaborate
- Work with style guides to design packaging and marketing materials
- Collaborate with graphic designers to format artwork, ensure print quality standards are met, and collect, process and organize files
- Preparing and transferring files for printing and production
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3+ years of pertinent experience {preferably in packaging design) managing and executing projects in an agency, in-house production department, or similar professional studio environment
- DEP in Graphic Design; or bachelor’s degree in Communications, Graphic Design or equivalent work experience.
- English (fluent) / French or Spanish are assets but not required
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite especially Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat
- Experience with packaging die-lines, pre-press and printing production/file preparation
- A keen eye for detail and excellent time management and organizational skills
- Creative and capable of visualizing an end result
- Experience with FileMaker, 3D Renderings, Photography, all, an asset
