About The Role:
Come join the award-winning team at BBDO New York. We’re looking for a Supervising Line Producer to join BBDO Studios, our in-house production company. In this role you will ensure each production is consistently successful, both creatively and financially. You represent a mastery of producing and have a thorough knowledge of the bidding process, budget projections, and production planning. What You’ll Do:
- Create the overall scope of work on motion and still projects done through in-house production team; help identify gaps in the creative process
- Serve as bidder for all productions and review proposals for costs, profitability, wrap books, and oversee budgets ranging from $15K to $2M
- Maintain a logistical yet creative point of view on projects, explaining ideas and workflows in a clear, friendly and convincing manner
- Partner with Post Production and Digital departments for accurate bidding and scheduling
- Work with and maintain relationships with agency producers and creatives, and communicate with clients as needed
- Identify early on any tactical offshoots (social, etc.) that may affect budget
- Source, lock and hire project-based employees and key talent for each production
- Advise and supervise third-party line producers to provide detailed actuals
- Oversight of legal agreements, Union/Guild contracts, Covid protocols and insurance
- Provide status updates, troubleshoot and review potential changes on regular basis with agency/account teams
- Develop and maintain partnerships with key production vendors to create cost and workflow efficiencies
- Travel for specific shoots may be required. To be discussed based on CDC guidance, project and company needs
What You Bring:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in production
- Experience as a line producer or similar, a must
- Experience working within a production company, ideally with an emphasis on advertising/commercial
- Ability to effectively lead a team and implement workflows and processes
- Strong knowledge of production logistics, rights issues, and current industry-standard practices
- Skilled in contracting, negotiating, scheduling, and managing multiple vendors and crews
- A strong industry network of trusted individuals to tap into as needed
- Experienced with compliance on contractual obligations, permitting, labor laws, international visa or carnet requirements, safety, and insurance needs
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Mastering of Microsoft and Google Platforms, especially Microsoft Excel
- Detailed, concise, and effective communication and record-keeping
- A sense of humor, self-motivated, energetic, authentic, and a love for the work
