Teacher Development at Collegiate Academies: At CA, our teachers never stop learning and never stop growing. Here’s how:
- Our approach to teacher development at CA is focused on individual goals and growth combined with a high degree of individualized support.
- Every teacher has a coach, and you will collaboratively, with your coach, create your growth goals and determine the plan that will see you hit those goals.
- There are some things in common with other teachers at your school – school goals, school priorities, school-based PD, etc. – but it is in your relationship with your coach where you will translate those things into what you specifically need to meet those goals yourself.
- You will also grow year over year as an expert in your content in collaboration with your peers across the network through content-specific professional development and data investigations.
- There is an additional layer of support for first year teachers called the CA Teacher Residency (CATR), which is an intensified, pre-service and coaching plan to develop you in the skills that we have seen that make rookie teachers most successful in their first year at CA.
