As an Artistic Director Visual Design at Ubi MTL, you are in charge of the quality and content of graphic and audiovisual productions. You will ensure that the elements produced are aligned with the game’s vision and propose creative and innovative ideas and concepts.

Collaborating closely with artists and designers across production teams, you’ll support them in pushing concepts further, producing consistent work, and enhancing player experiences through impactful visuals.

What you’ll do

  • Propose graphic or audiovisual concepts based on the client’s brief in the form of a synopsis, mood board or sketch.
  • Define the artistic style of the graphic or audiovisual mandate inspired from the game’s artistic direction (reference films, competing games and design documents).
  • Ensure that the artistic vision is communicated through the visual identity.
  • Create lit and original concepts that support the game’s positioning with the various project teams.
  • Communicate expectations to the production team assigned to the mandate and ensure the quality and content of the ambiances, sets, characters, narration, etc. using visual references and documents that describe the artistic direction.
  • Follow up and validate the team’s finished work so the elements produced are in line with the initial brief and the game’s vision, and ensure that the quality is respected.
  • Work directly with the project director and artists.
  • Produce documents such as GAP (Game Artistic Personality), brief, guide style.

  • Around 10 years of UI, visual design, branding, or art direction experience (in the video game industry, a huge plus) or other relevant experience

The SVP, Associate Creative Director is responsible for ensuring that all Agency work is on strategy and meets or exceeds the highest level of creative accomplishment. Our Ministry’s Mission: BKF exists to break the cycle of divorce, equip marriages, and unite blended families with the truth of God’s word. We educate families with biblical resources and practical skills, empowering them to flourish in their kingdom identity and live life abundantly.

Blended Kingdom Families is a 501 c3 non-profit organization. We are looking to build a strong, creative and dynamic team with the help of this position. The Creative Director at BKF will oversee and manage the creative team, including art direction, creative copywriting, video production & editing, graphic design, digital project, social media presence and more. The Creative Director will lead the way in how Blended Kingdom Families brand is utilized and implemented across the organization. Position Summary

In the Art Director role, you and your writing partner will create a wide range of ideas and creative concepts that stand out and earn attention. Your work will range from brand acts that create conversations, to advertising across a range of mediums, to compelling visual stories that stand out on social platforms. You’ll be a key part of a creative process that makes ideas, acts, and experiences that get shared and talked about on social and in the press.

 

You’ll use your strong concepting and ideation skills to produce great creative ideas and use your strength as a visual storyteller to bring them to life. You’ll translate your ideas (and the team’s concepts) into visuals for social media, digital advertising, and traditional content. You’ll partner with producers to make sure that a wide variety of content is captured and edited in a way that fits the iconic brands you represent. You’ll need a strong understanding of the best-practice design principles for Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, but you’ll also need to be comfortable breaking them with innovation that captures attention in new ways. Your experience in traditional mediums will help you raise the quality of work for social, but also work at a pace that fits the dynamic needs of the digital environment. You’ll use your unique skillset and trained eye to inspire the design team around you. Together, you and your team are building a design culture that moves food marketing forward.

Primary Responsibilities

  • ART DIRECTION: Experienced visual expert who elevates the work and level of visual quality that meets high standards.
  • INNOVATIVE & TRADITIONAL DESIGN: Work in a wide range of mediums ranging from traditional video and photo content, real world design (experiential) and social media content.
  • BRAND DESIGN: Steward the design identity of iconic brands, ensuring they have a consistent look and feel online. You will translate brand strategy into powerful and purposeful creative concepts and are the final voice in ensuring these brands have consistently high-quality execution across all mediums.
  • IDEATION: Actively participate in brainstorms with positive energy and dimensional thinking that leverages research and brand insights. Ability to articulate how we can bring ideas to life visually and able to think broadly about big ideas. Proactively seeks out current and upcoming new digital and design trends and best practices.
  • PRESENTATION DESIGN: Manage a team to create compelling visual stories and get hands-on as required to design those presentation decks that sell through big ideas. Develops storyboards and presentation decks that help preview the creative ideas we want to make.
  • COLLABORATION: Work as a part of a cross-functional design team, and as part of a larger creative team. Comfortable in an iterative environment.
  • WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT: Can manage multiple priorities and assignments in a fast-paced, active environment to deliver high quality work, on time and with accuracy. Knows how to delegate work and manage a team’s capacity.

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in advertising, with a focus on ideation and concepting for brand acts, stunts, and storytelling. You have experience as an Art Director with a proven track record of leading other Designers and stewarding brands.
  • A diverse portfolio showcasing examples of work you have created yourself, as well as work created by a team you managed. Your portfolio includes examples of strategic/conceptual thinking, visual design, and storytelling, and innovative social work that elevates the medium.
  • College or University diploma in Art, Visual Communication Design, Advertising and/or Art Direction
  • The ability to execute concepts at a level that is among the top tier in the industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Exposure to Art Direction, Photo Shoots, and UI/UX are an advantage.
  • Proficient using Mac OS, Adobe Creative Cloud (Expert knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign), SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or Keynote).
  • Passion for food and food design with an insatiable curiosity to learn more about it
  • A desire to do award-winning, internationally recognized work

Job Description

Mikros is looking for an experienced Art Director to work on an exciting new animated feature film. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of creative leadership, great interpersonal skills and animation production experience at a senior level, who is excited by the prospect of setting the visual direction for this ambitious movie in close collaboration with the director and production designer.

  • Driving and managing the visual development of all of the movie’s design requirements.
  • Effectively communicating the visual direction of the movie, by providing and sourcing relevant imagery and documentation.
  • Collaborating with our director and carefully interpreting his feedback to ensure we meet our creative brief.
  • Supervising a talented design department in generating art for our characters, sets and props as well as establishing mood, color language and lighting for our movie.
  • Providing clear, concise and detailed direction to your design team for their assignments.
  • Collaborating closely with other department supervisors and reviewing designs, models, surfacing, the color script, set dressing and light keys to ensure we meet the high production standards we expect to deliver to our clients.
  • Providing clear and practical feedback to ensure the visual direction remains consistent for the duration of the production.
  • Prioritizing, problem solving and finding efficient and effective solutions to allow us to complete the production to schedule and to budget.
  • Developing and nurturing the skills and abilities of all the digital artists in your team.
  • Have the ability to work to deadlines, be comfortable under pressure and able to effectively manage, motivate and develop your team and their skills.
  • Collaborate closely with the production team to stay aligned with the production’s overall goals.

Qualifications

  • Have proven experience working in animated features or television in Art & Design departments in a senior role.
  • Have art directed (or acted in a similar role) at least one animated feature film.
  • Be an excellent artist in their own right, as demonstrated through past work and/or their portfolio.
  • Have a clear understanding of the steps and processes involved in creating and taking 2D designs all the way from concept through to final image in a 3D pipeline.
  • Knowledge of drawing software including Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Knowledge in Maya is a plus.
