Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Software Engineering at Macy’s Technology reports to the Director, and plays a key role in leading the software engineering technical direction and integration of enterprise solutions. The Senior Manager, Software Engineering will form effective partnerships across Macy’s Technology.

The Manager collaborates with various levels of stakeholders (Sr. Leadership, each department’s management, project teams, Infrastructure and Field Services leaders, and enterprise architects) on architecture, requirements, and implementation of application platform features; Possess a combination of systems and technology experience along with strong thought leadership skill to define platform release plans that deliver key enabling features in time to support major initiatives across the enterprise; Evangelize the use of platform features in business application development across East and West Coast departments; Build and lead high performing solution architecture and engineering teams to deliver and support platform features, frameworks, and automations that provide Omni channel applications and services speed and scale; Drive platform innovation in both technology and process; Inspires the teams to achieve outstanding results in a fast paced environment.

Essential Functions

  • Create roadmap and define monthly release plans.
  • Lead the development, delivery, and operations of technology solutions to support the modernization of Macy’s capabilities. Advises Macys Tech senior management on strategic plans and improvements to systems and processes to execute business vision and strategic plan.
  • Lead the implementation of application services, frameworks, automations, and infrastructure that the departments, teams and their projects depend upon. Collaborate with architecture, compliance, stake holders, and PMs to estimate and plan work.
  • Support department, teams and their projects on their onboarding into application and throughout their development life cycle. Work with Technical Leads, Software architects and quality assurance engineers to resolve development roadblocks.
  • Mentor and coach leaders & individual contributors reporting to this position and play an active role in raising the talent bar across the technology team.
  • Responsible for budget, projects, and resources planning.
  • Evolve platform maturity in automation, operations, stability, and support.
  • Communicate latest platform solutions to the enterprise through case studies, standards and best practice publications, presentations, newsletters, and town hall meetings.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and evaluate applicability of new software tools to platform development.
  • Consistently demonstrate regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering and 8-10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years management experience of guiding large teams with 15-20 engineers. Experience leading people leaders preferred.
  • 8+ years’ experience with SOA development.
  • Strong leadership profile and excellent prioritization and negotiation skills, capable of managing multiple streams of work in parallel with aggressive timelines.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership capabilities and have solid track record of leading engineering team and delivering enterprise class products. Must also have broad and deep technical understanding of the technologies in this field.
  • Must also have broad and deep technical understanding of the technologies in this field, including but not limited to
    • Java and related technologies and frameworks including Spring framework.
    • Front End technologies like ReactJS / Angular.
    • Modern System Architecture Patterns.
    • Experience leading DevOps or ITOps a plus
    • Experience working with cloud service providers (preferably GCP)
    • Experience working with modern SQL / noSQL Databases.
  • Preferred – Experience on Marketing Creative Tools for sample management, photography workflow, proofing, content workflow, media buying, etc
  • Preferred – Experience implementing 3rd party packaged software solutions – E.g. Adobe suite (AEM, AJO, Target, AEP), Aprimo workflow / DAM, OpenText or other CMS software, SAS, Campaign Management, Loyalty etc.
  • Experience managing large offshore teams and 3rd party vendors would be a plus.
  • Experience with modern tech stack and open-source technologies required.
  • Experience and passion to work in a fast-paced Agile environment, delivering functional features in small time durations required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written/ verbal communication skills and presentation skills. Demonstrable presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Reasoning Ability: Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrable leadership abilities in changing, ambiguous and challenging situations.

You will be responsible for supporting the proactive PR plan for our Hungry Horse, Chef & Brewer, Farmhouse Inns and Wacky Warehouse brands.

We operate a 50/50 agile working policy between half of your time working from home. Your 2-3 office days will be split between our Burton on Trent office, our agency partner in Manchester or in our pubs in the North and the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver a comprehensive PR strategy for each brand; setting clear direction to the team and retained agency on objectives, communications challenges and ensuring the PR plans adhere to the strategy
  • Draft and oversee the output of all press material for the division – announcements, press releases, photo-call notices, features, website copy and media packs
  • Play an important role on the Press Office 24/7 function providing strong reactive media statements and strategic guidance during business issues/crisis.
  • Direct external agencies and ensure they are clear on the strategy, objectives and ambition for the division, conducting quarterly reviews and feedback sessions
  • Create detailed periodic and annual reports for senior leadership that clearly demonstrate the value PR activities are adding to the business, as well as ensuring the prompt delivery of comprehensive campaign evaluations that capture key learnings and recommendations
  • To work closely with all content and channel owners to ensure through-the-line activity is activated effectively, especially with social media to ensure we maximise owned and earned media opportunities
  • Develop key relationships within the commercial team – food, drink, insight to ensure campaigns are maximised and a collaborative approach is optimised

What will you work on?

Spin Master is seeking a Director of Brand and Franchise planning, who knows what it takes to build and excite fandoms. As a seasoned Planner, you will bridge the tactical-side of Communications Planning and the insights-side of Brand Planning to yield remarkable work for our internal franchise stakeholders. Reporting to the VP Brand Planning and Communication Planning, you will utilize Spin Master’s data and insights to provide the unique voice of the consumer in business and integrated marketing plans. You will translate business briefs into clear, motivating creative briefs for our creative team as well as design strategic frameworks needed for Global planning presentations as it relates to our franchise brands. You will work closely with the Entertainment Team to develop well-considered plans that clearly deliver against our consumer and audience needs. needs. You will help to carefully craft brand positionings and foundations to ensure strong go-to-market strategies.

How will you create impact?

  • Craft strategic global brand positioning foundations on franchise brands and be a partner to Creative Directors in bringing our campaigns to life while helping to define and shape Spin Master’s internal brands and positioning as needed
  • Translate and shape business and creative briefs, defining what they need, and ensuring our plans deliver against objectives
  • Shape playbook narratives in collaboration with Comms Planners to deliver strong franchise plans that look holistically at all aspects of the brand (Toy, Entertainment, and Digital)
  • Work closely with Research and Insights team to help ensure that we’re on top of the latest in consumer research and asking the right questions along the way and work closely with several functions teams to create more strategic plans that deliver a Consumer First approach that over time that unlock stronger sales
  • Collaborate on consumer journeys that help provide integrated content solutions along with a clear through-line that rationalizes how and why our solutions work
  • Distill data and findings into clear actionable consumer insights for our brands and products
  • Write the narrative and presentations for on-going business needs and arm business and brand owners with a solid understanding of long-range trends affecting consumer behavior


How will you fit into the team?

  • A modern pop culture anthropologist who can author a killer brief and has passion for kid’s entertainment
  • Ability to operate independently while demonstrating strong problem-solving, presentation, and communication (both written and verbal), skills

What are your skills and experience?

  • At least 8 years of experience and incredible proven impact working in advertising, digital platforms, or related fields
  • Solid Creative agency experience developing both traditional and digital work in the strategy or planning department
  • Expertise in various dimensions of strategic planning: with specific expertise in brand planning (brand foundations and consumer insight) and strong communications planning acumen (integrated connections planning that defines the role and connection of each element)
  • Comfortable using data sources from Ipsos to Google to Concept testing

Job Overview:

The key function of the Assistant Club Manager will be to help the Club Manager run the day to day operations of the club. The Assistant Club Manager will be an active participant of the team and will lead by example by providing a warm, engaging, up-beat and positive energy while serving all Members, Guests, and team mates throughout the entire club.

Responsibilities:

The Assistant Club Manager will support the Club Manager in the following:

  • Drive sales through successful tour execution and lead generation activity
  • Execute all initiatives that support the delivery of the Blink member experience
  • Manage the staff on day to day performance
  • Assist in driving Personal Training revenue
  • Interview, hire, train and develop new staff members

The Assistant Club Manager will be directly responsible for:

  • Conduct weekly inventory, including retail, beverage, marketing collateral and maintenance supplies
  • Place monthly supply orders and retail orders as needed via the Blink web portal
  • Create Front Desk and Maintenance schedules
  • Order drinks weekly
  • Manage entire cash reconciliation and deposit process
  • Receive and adjust all retail inventory via club management software
  • Complete onboarding of all new associates

Team Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate new Member sign up and Guest trial transactions
  • Maintain our levels for cleanliness and organization of all areas in the Club
  • Maintain high visibility throughout the Club
  • Ensure the safety of Members, Guests and Team
  • We take pride and have fun

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership ability in an educational, fitness or professional setting
  • Minimum one (1) year management/key holder/MOD experience in a customer service business
  • Proven ability to direct and train team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess honesty and personal integrity
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, friendly and personable
  • Passionate, intelligent and knowledgeable regarding the fitness industry
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Computer literate on the Microsoft Suite
  • Hardworking and diligent
  • Excellent time management, organizational, problem solving and follow-up skills

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Art Director is responsible for the visual style of communications used for, and not limited to print, experiential, instore POS, magazines, product packaging, all digital media, web design etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Responsible for generating strategically sound ideas and concepts solo, or in tandem with a Copywriter
  • Execute layouts to deliver on objectives of project briefs
  • Oversee consistency, compliance with regulatory bodies, and manage evolution of brands from creative perspective
  • Producing sketches, storyboards, art layouts based on approved concepts and ideas
  • Understanding our clients marketing and business strategy and target audiences
  • Responsible not only for developing visual styles, and guides, but designing final creative as well
  • Able to delegate responsibilities to designer(s) as well as provide clear direction on final artwork
  • Responsible for presenting and selling work to clients and internal team members
  • Responsible for keeping on top of all trends and best practices
  • Willing to work on alcohol and cannabis related clients
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Friendly, positive, can-do attitude
  • Proficient in the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint
  • Creative and conceptual while remaining focused on the client’s objectives and goals
  • Results-focused, self-starter, highly motivated and detail-oriented with a high level of energy/high sense of urgency, with an understanding of time-sensitivity
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
