Come work with Oregon’s Legislative Policy and Research Office (LPRO)! Our mission is to provide professional nonpartisan staffing, analysis, and research that supports and informs the policymaking process. Our highest priority is to ensure that Oregon’s legislature has access to relevant and timely information on public policy issues of interest to the state.

 

Oregon’s Legislative Policy and Research Office (LPRO) is recruiting an Editor to add to our team of professional nonpartisan staff serving the state legislature. This position requires a strong background in technical editing and copyediting, skill and interest in developing new systems, and ability to train others and provide direction. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape editorial processes and policies.

 

The Editor works independently, exercises excellent judgment, and has strong organizational and time management skills. The Editor also works frequently with teams, both internal to LPRO and with external partners. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and lead teams in completing multiple complex projects effectively and on time.

 

Responsibilities of the LPRO Editor include:

  • Providing editorial, technical, and publication expertise and services
  • Reviewing, revising, and maintaining LPRO’s publication guides and templates
  • Training legislative and research analysts and assisting with technical aspects of publications
  • Publishing public-facing documents and overseeing LPRO’s document management system
  • Managing publications-related projects
  • Ensuring public accessibility and readability of publications

 

The work of the LPRO Editor takes place on-site in Salem. There may be opportunity for occasional telework depending on work assignments and when it aligns with legislative needs as determined by the Appointing Authority.

About the office: LPRO is a nonpartisan office that supports Oregon’s lawmakers and the legislative process by providing staffing to legislative committees and responding to research and analysis requests from lawmakers. LPRO supports Oregonians in engaging with lawmakers and in the legislative process by providing language access services and coordinating public engagement and testimony on behalf of legislative committees.

 

The Editor’s work is primarily in-person, based at the Capitol in Salem, Oregon. In session, LPRO staff are required to work in Salem. In the interim, a hybrid work schedule (partly on-site, partly telework) may be possible.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE DEMONSTRATED WORK EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS IN:

What You Will Be Doing: 

  • Oversee and assist in the development, planning, and execution of Silver Dolphin and Studio Fun books (approximately 35 titles per year),managing projects from launch through approval to print.
  • Edit, proofread, and fact-check books ranging from board books for toddlers to movie-based novelty titles to book-plus fiction and nonfiction titles for middle-schoolers, ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Write up to 8–10 manuscripts per year.
  • Write back cover and marketing copy.
  • Hire and oversee freelance writers.
  • Communicate with production, editorial, and design teams during all phases of development, proactively identifying issues and applying strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot, including reviewing cover concepts, layouts, and overall book design.
  • Attend weekly production and scheduling meetings and communicate the status of each title related to the schedule, changes to format, and art or design concerns.
  • Maintain accuracy of all information related to titles in the title management database.
  • Upload materials in an organized and timely fashion to online approval systems for licensed titles; experience with licensing is a plus.
  • Prepare title cost sheets to ensure projects are profitable by examining specs and budgets.
  • Manage author, licensor, and packager correspondence with a high degree of organization and professionalism.
  • Be comfortable presenting titles and updates clearly in meetings and to internal stakeholders.
  • Follow established processes for book development, including schedule adherence, routing passes, and reviewing key information with a high degree of organization.
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with a larger creative team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.
  • Ensure all titles meet PRPG’s standard of quality and artistic excellence.

Hiring Salary Range: $101,297.56 – 128,293.88.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The UFC Creative Ops & Production Coordinator will support the Paramount Streaming Design groups. This role will support all UFC design needs including key art, digital display, motion design, out of home, social, etc. Supports end-to-end production workflows for UFC, serving as the support liaison across internal teams, vendors, and agencies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality assets. Responsibilities include supporting production of graphic toolkits, schedules, and approvals, coordinating with artists and producers on layouts and versioning, and safeguarding creative identity across all UFC campaigns.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
● Work closely with Streaming Design team leadership in resource planning and management
● Work with internal design creative production and agency teams ensuring deadlines are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget

● Manage creative project workflow by planning, tracking, managing and leading all steps in the creative life cycle, including dependencies
