Job Description: Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking local residents from Albany and Rensselaer County, NY to participate as background extras in the upcoming season of “The Gilded Age,” a period drama set in the 1880s. This is a paid opportunity for individuals who can accurately represent the era and add authenticity to the production.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend a costume fitting in Troy, NY prior to the shoot date.

  • Participate as a background extra in various scenes, following directions from the director and production team.

  • Maintain a professional demeanor and collaborate effectively with other cast members and crew.

  • Be prepared to work around smoke and wear period-specific costumes, including corsets and bustles for women.

Requirements:

  • Must be a local resident of Albany or Rensselaer County, NY.

  • Must be available for filming between August 5th and August 23rd, 2024.

  • Ability to attend a costume fitting starting from June 26, 2024.

  • Must have natural hair colors only (no highlights), and no modern haircuts or visible tattoos.

  • Must not have allergies to wool and must be comfortable working around smoke.

  • Must provide current photos and include height, weight, clothing, and shoe sizes.

  • Minors must be submitted by a parent or guardian and include the date of birth.

Compensation:

  • SAG-AFTRA Members:

    • Fitting Pay: $82/2 hours

    • Shoot Day Pay: $216/8 hours

  • Non-SAG Members:

    • Fitting Pay: $40/2.5 hours
