Responsibilities:
- Work with game, product, and marketing teams to develop a visual style and world setting that maximizes the commercial success of our original IP games.
- Define and uphold the quality bar of our aesthetics – visual targets, style guides, reviews, etc.
- Help build, lead, and nurture the growth of a team of talented artists.
- Create an efficient and scalable art pipeline that can provide a foundation for future games.
- Stay educated on the latest trends and have a strong perspective on how they relate to our current and future projects.
Qualifications:
- Ample experience leading a team.
- Extensive knowledge of game and traditional art processes and production pipelines, Excellent eye for graphical quality and knowledge of techniques used to achieve specific visual targets.
- Strong understanding of the practical implications that different visual styles have on not just art, but also product, design, marketing, and engineering.
- Ability to communicate creative vision, process, decisions, and rationale to team members in a way that inspires and motivates.
- Ability to direct a team across a wide range of visual styles in both 2D & 3D.
- Proven artistic talent and a firm understanding of traditional art and design principles.
- Enthusiasm for directing, mentoring, and otherwise elevating the people around them to do their best work.
- A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn.
Required:
- 4-5 years of experience – Photoshop or other industry illustration software
- 4+ years of experience – Autodesk Maya
- 3+ years industry experience as an Art Director
