THE GREAT. is Emily Current & Meritt Elliott’s multi-category advanced contemporary women’s collection. For women, by women, THE GREAT. is a casual collection that reimagines American classics with a sense of nostalgia.

As the Art Director for THE GREAT. you will be responsible for co-conceptualizing, leading, and executing on all touchpoints of the brands visual identity. Through the implementation of creative strategy, conceptualization, and execution of all brand assets, you will maintain a consistent visual brand statement across all areas of the business.

Reporting into the Head of Creative and Design, you will be the driving force behind the development and delivery of THE GREAT.’s aesthetic and storytelling as it relates to all elements of THE GREAT. You are an experienced conceptual and strategic creative leader responsible for working hands-on with and overseeing a range of creative initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

· Help define, conceptualize, and develop the brand narrative and visual brand statement.

· Work with the Head of Creative and Design on the conceptual development and execution of seasonal editorials, and e-commerce photography for THE GREAT. to ensure it’s streamlined for all forward-facing elements. Including storytelling, campaigns, lookbooks, catalogs, emails, logos, invitations, packaging, seasonal graphics, store signage, website content, promotions, brand decks, presentations, and any other visual social media assets.

· Present work to business partners and senior management. Adjust and shape design decisions based on feedback.

· Upon approval of concepts, manage the creative from concept stage through to completion, across all design disciplines within the brand.

· Manage a team of designers including setting clear roles and responsibilities and expectations of all projects to be sure the output is brand-appropriate and completed on time with the highest standard possible.

· Help to evolve and test new ideas with the broader creative to further the brand handwriting and to ensure visuals and content are synergized, telling focused brand stories and fulfilled deliverables across all channels.

· Ideate and present concepts, mood, and storyboards for all seasonal shoots, integrating brand values into final work.

· Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, and visually exciting, easy to use, and emotionally engaging.

· Work across creative, content, e-commerce, and retail to bring together business needs and interpret these into a leading visual message.

Spearhead all seasonal catalog shoots with a shot list and be personally hands-on with the execution from beginning to end.

· Develop excellent work consistent with The Great. look and feel.

· Have a true passion for specialty retail, fashion, graphic design, and photography as well as a high taste level who can consistently refresh the brand’s look and feel over time.

· Must have strong communication skills and be able to work cross-functionally with creative leads, design, visual merchandising, and marketing.

· Strong conceptual abilities and high attention to detail.

· Able to create great work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment without compromising quality.

· Deals well with ambiguity and operates with a highly flexible style.
