We are looking for a strategic thinker, leader and “doer”. As part of JMA’s management, and the development team, this role helps us raise funds (for clients) from individuals, corporations/companies, small businesses, faith communities and small family foundations, retain staff and create the most empowered team possible. 

The Director will provide guidance and engagement needed to keep our clients’ stakeholders informed and involved in addition to sourcing new donors and increasing, when possible, current/historical levels of support for the organization. 

Key Responsibilities: Leadership

  • Manage client accounts

  • Assist with creating work plans and performance plans
  • Promote high quality standards of work product and a great client experience
  • Provide outreach (sales) resources to support the growth of JMA – including cross sales to current clients and creation of proposals

Key Responsibilities: Clients

  • Maintain relationships with clients through email, phone and in-person meetings

  • Work with other staff at JMA to ensure they are aware of grant opportunities; provide clients with the best fit for grants/individual giving introductions  
  • Work with the JMA team during assignments and editing process to ensure written content and proposals fit client needs and funders’ guidelines
  • Assist JMA to produce a development product that is exceptional

Key Responsibilities: Communications and Events

  • Review, approve final output, and manage all assignments to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure narrative and media content is in alignment with org standards and project goals
  • Write and develop communication/marketing plans
  • Develop event/program sponsorship and advertisement packages
  • Ability to provide strategy and expertise

  • Oversee JMA and clients’ fundraising database and tracking systems, including data integrity, queries, policies, monthly reporting and analysis

  • Secure revenue through sponsorship and donations – corporate and business sponsorship & auction items 
  • Work with clients’ committees to achieve fundraising goals (sponsorship, guest registration and list management, program and more)

 

Key Responsibilities: Individual Giving

  • Manage and/or assist to manage capital campaigns
  • Prospective donor identification, cultivation, outreach, solicitation and stewardship – individuals, corporations/businesses and foundations
  • Rate and perform wealth screens
  • Work with Clients to define, plan and prioritize annual fund goals – review and advise/recommend on all annual fundraising strategies & create annual campaign calendars, timelines, & budgets
  • Write and compile fundraising reports
  • Develop individual donor strategies to renew and/or upgrade donor gifts 
  • Create and perform donor retention and recapture activities
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of clients’ vision and philanthropic priorities to effectively and compellingly present the case to prospective and existing donors
  • Oversee conception, writing and production of compelling, donor-centric direct mail and email appeals; stewardship materials including newsletter, invitations and brochures; and social media content as related to fundraising and donor stewardship
  • Contract negotiation and review – venues, entertainment, F/B, maintain relationships with event production and event staff (internal and external)
  • Accurately track expenditures to stay on budget

 

Key Responsibilities: Grants

  • Oversee client prospect research/grant planning efforts
  • Review snapshots and advise on grant strategies
  • Monitor funding reports
  • Meet with donors and foundation staff
  • Assign and write grants and reports as needed and assigned
  • Direct writing assignments and provide edits, deliver to clients
  • Review/advise on grant attachments and financials
  • Work with Managers on process to ensure accuracy and reduce potential mistakes

Experience/Qualifications

  • 5-8 or more years of experience working with nonprofit organization(s); grant writing/fundraising experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills including the ability to maintain data management systems, prioritize projects, meet multiple deadlines and work with teams

The US base range for this contract position is $100-$105/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the VP to define the social media strategy for St John with strong emphasis on Instagram.
  • Execute and manage St. John’s social strategy to drive brand awareness, grow followers across all platforms, and build community through meaningful engagement.
  • Lead amplification strategies, identifying and presenting ways to drive media value in social channels.
  • Develop and oversee influencer and KOL strategic plans ensuring maximum impact to the brand and brand channels.
  • Develop social media strategy, calendars and campaigns that help to achieve corporate marketing goals.
  • Manage the execution of content against our social media strategy; accountable for curating and publishing content native to social channels and best practices
  • Create methods for rapid growth of Instagram followers and increased engagement.
  • Responsible for brief, communication plan and reporting.
  • Manage content calendars, identifying relevant opportunities and maintaining creative strategy through posting on social channels, Instagram feed and stories, Facebook, YouTube, Tik Tok, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
  • Take initiative in the creation and build-out of content creation.
  • Collaborate with creative team to build and post content, utilizing technology and trend.
  • Monitor the company’s social media accounts and offer constructive interaction with users.
  • Track social performance by owning social media calendar and pipeline, reporting dashboards, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and regular capture of social media data.
  • Analyze the long-term needs of the company’s social media strategy and offer reports to the management and executive teams that outline any necessary changes to the digital marketing plan.
  • Accountable for driving overall social media performance, including but not limited to social media followers, community management, social media engagement, influencer marketing revenue lift, and campaign performance.
  • Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries
  • Stay on top of digital industry trends, applications, channels, strategy and news
  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Event/brand marketing/experiential marketing/entertainment marketing support, as needed. This includes occasional travel.
  • Effectively use social listening and analytics tools, glean insight from output and translate insights into meaningful actionable recommendations.
  • Manage day-to-day relationship with external reporting partners and agencies as necessary
  • Make the Brand’s investments work hard, ensuring budgets and timelines are met

Skills/Education/Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience leading social media strategies for Luxury brands
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Social media fluent. You know the relevant platforms and what’s happening on them; have strong relationships with social media titans and thorough knowledge of which platforms are relevant to the brand
  • Social media reporting capabilities and ability to connect social media KPIs with overall marketing and business objectives
  • Experience working with influencers and KOLs to build strong brand partnerships and content
  • Experience with the China Market and WeChat in the context of Fashion Luxury a plus
  • Experience working in a fashion company with proven ability to bring “collection/product stories” to life through compelling content & influencer strategies

St. John Knits

This is an Editorial Coordinator position in a large entertainment and media company. This is a 6 month contract in Knoxville, TN and is expected to be onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize photo galleries by updating metadata and adding slides and captions.
  • Work with multiple teams including editors, designers and marketers.
  • Ideate and write a variety of SEO driven articles assigned by digital editors.
  • Help with various website newsletter and social content optimization projects.
  • Communicate with designers regarding website requests.

Qualifications

  • Have a degree in journalism or related field and 2 years of experience or commensurate experience working in digital media.
  • Be a strong writer and editor with published writing samples.
  • Have professional communication skills.
  • Have experience working in content management systems preferably Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Being familiar with image asset management experience in Adobe Lightroom is a plus.
  • -Be familiar with SEO and digital content optimization.
