What will you work on?

Spin Master is seeking a Director of Brand and Franchise planning, who knows what it takes to build and excite fandoms. As a seasoned Planner, you will bridge the tactical-side of Communications Planning and the insights-side of Brand Planning to yield remarkable work for our internal franchise stakeholders. Reporting to the VP Brand Planning and Communication Planning, you will utilize Spin Master’s data and insights to provide the unique voice of the consumer in business and integrated marketing plans. You will translate business briefs into clear, motivating creative briefs for our creative team as well as design strategic frameworks needed for Global planning presentations as it relates to our franchise brands. You will work closely with the Entertainment Team to develop well-considered plans that clearly deliver against our consumer and audience needs. needs. You will help to carefully craft brand positionings and foundations to ensure strong go-to-market strategies.

How will you create impact?

  • Craft strategic global brand positioning foundations on franchise brands and be a partner to Creative Directors in bringing our campaigns to life while helping to define and shape Spin Master’s internal brands and positioning as needed
  • Translate and shape business and creative briefs, defining what they need, and ensuring our plans deliver against objectives
  • Shape playbook narratives in collaboration with Comms Planners to deliver strong franchise plans that look holistically at all aspects of the brand (Toy, Entertainment, and Digital)
  • Work closely with Research and Insights team to help ensure that we’re on top of the latest in consumer research and asking the right questions along the way and work closely with several functions teams to create more strategic plans that deliver a Consumer First approach that over time that unlock stronger sales
  • Collaborate on consumer journeys that help provide integrated content solutions along with a clear through-line that rationalizes how and why our solutions work
  • Distill data and findings into clear actionable consumer insights for our brands and products
  • Write the narrative and presentations for on-going business needs and arm business and brand owners with a solid understanding of long-range trends affecting consumer behavior


How will you fit into the team?

  • A modern pop culture anthropologist who can author a killer brief and has passion for kid’s entertainment

What are your skills and experience?

  • At least 8 years of experience and incredible proven impact working in advertising, digital platforms, or related fields
  • Solid Creative agency experience developing both traditional and digital work in the strategy or planning department
  • Expertise in various dimensions of strategic planning: with specific expertise in brand planning (brand foundations and consumer insight) and strong communications planning acumen (integrated connections planning that defines the role and connection of each element)
  • Comfortable using data sources from Ipsos to Google to Concept testing

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

The Paper Store is a fast-moving retail leader that empowers our teams to be innovative and creative. The Creative Director will develop and drive the vision of The Paper Store brand from concept and creative strategy thru execution in-store and across multiple marketing channels. The right candidate will bring a passion for concepting big ideas that connect our brand with consumers, establish a purpose for The Paper Store in their everyday lives and drive omni channel sales. This role will develop the brand voice and brand visual strategy, organic social media, and work cross-functionally with the Buying Dept to bring product trend development and seasonally relevant on-trend themes to our marketing and product selections. Our family-run organization is based on in-depth cross-functional collaboration between departments and the Creative Director role will play a pivotal role in facilitating this process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the brand voice and visual direction that breaks through to the customer, maintains and enhances the brand image, and drives sales in all channels (online video, social & digital media, email, website, grand opening campaigns, in-store signage, store environmental branding and other marketing initiatives). Drive consumer-centric, brand right, engaging creative and tactical application – from concept through high-quality outputs.
  • Develop the seasonal thematic campaigns, messaging and imagery that uniform the brand’s direction between marketing, stores and product and drive customers in store
  • Identify and present product trends that drive the direction of private label product development and brand-exclusive collections. Oversee a Product Development Designer who will focus on both hard and soft line product development, pattern design/illustration and packaging design across various gift, décor and apparel categories.
  • Drive the organic social media strategy for The Paper Store brands with an eye towards channel growth and brand voice/strategy development. Oversee a Social Media Coordinator to aid in content, posting, influencer management and customer engagement.
  • Develop and manage a network of creative, media & PR agencies to fulfill integrated marketing campaigns throughout the year
  • Seamlessly integrate the needs of a fast-paced, rapidly evolving multi-channel retailer while building the brand and driving transactions in-store and online
  • Maintain close and collaborative partnerships with the Director of Marketing, Art Director, Photographer and Graphic Design team to ensure a continuous evolution and execution of elevated brand and product imagery
  • Creates and support an open, authentic environment where diverse opinions are encouraged and respected. Build trust with senior leaders, peers and/or team through cultivating an open, transparent, feedback-rich environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent degree or professional work experience
  • 6+ years of related work experience at internal or external agencies with at least 3+ years working with/managing creative for retail brands
  • Exceptional design skills (well-produced, big idea campaigns), communication and presentation skills
  • Proven understanding of store design and visual merchandising
  • Extensive understanding of photography, video, illustration, typography along with broad photoshoot experience and a wide talent network

Topline Summary

Acts as both Executive Producer and a Creative Producer.

Executive Producer duties include leading/scoping all aspects of production, including identifying production partners, timing, budget and sourcing of deliverables across a variety of projects and platforms/placements. Drive collaboration with project management—to educate teams about the production process, to drive efficiency and grounded process.

Creative Producer duties include identifying creative partners, shepherding projects through the ideation, pre-production, production, and post-production process– managing everything from consistent integration of our creative brand POV, to driving contractual oversight and legal feedback, to ensuring assets are delivered to spec. Act as a 360 producer, everything from brand video & photography, to documentary content, to animation, to social assets, to events/activations.

Responsibilities

  • Leading/Scoping all aspects of production – including identifying production partners, timing, budget, and sourcing of deliverables across a variety of projects and platforms/placements.
  • Source creative photographers/illustrator/casting agencies/production agencies/stylists/models + talent/videographers/copywriters
  • Oversee all elements of production (location scouting/casting/model & wardrobe selection, insurance coverage, adhering to shot list and schedule as relates to budget, obtaining creative overage estimates as need be, following ompliance guidelines, booking travel, ensure file and spec sizes, provide any necessary meta-data, review, and approve all final billing from vendor for payment.
  • Responsible for art buying, managing internal and external content creation (photo, video, artwork, illustrators, copy, etc.)
  • Cultivate relationships and collaborate with emerging and existing artists, agencies, and other partners

The Opportunity

Leading a team of thinkers and doers, the Creative Director will bring a mix of marketing and business expertise to the position while promoting our brand. The Objectives of this Role

  • Build, lead, and review work of the creative team in the production of all web, print, and digital marketing collateral

Who You Are

This production has a mandatory vaccination policy for all Zone A workers, including Background Actors, Stand-Ins, and other talent ages 5 and above working on its set.
