What will you work on?
Spin Master is seeking a Director of Brand and Franchise planning, who knows what it takes to build and excite fandoms. As a seasoned Planner, you will bridge the tactical-side of Communications Planning and the insights-side of Brand Planning to yield remarkable work for our internal franchise stakeholders. Reporting to the VP Brand Planning and Communication Planning, you will utilize Spin Master’s data and insights to provide the unique voice of the consumer in business and integrated marketing plans. You will translate business briefs into clear, motivating creative briefs for our creative team as well as design strategic frameworks needed for Global planning presentations as it relates to our franchise brands. You will work closely with the Entertainment Team to develop well-considered plans that clearly deliver against our consumer and audience needs. needs. You will help to carefully craft brand positionings and foundations to ensure strong go-to-market strategies.
How will you create impact?
- Craft strategic global brand positioning foundations on franchise brands and be a partner to Creative Directors in bringing our campaigns to life while helping to define and shape Spin Master’s internal brands and positioning as needed
- Translate and shape business and creative briefs, defining what they need, and ensuring our plans deliver against objectives
- Shape playbook narratives in collaboration with Comms Planners to deliver strong franchise plans that look holistically at all aspects of the brand (Toy, Entertainment, and Digital)
- Work closely with Research and Insights team to help ensure that we’re on top of the latest in consumer research and asking the right questions along the way and work closely with several functions teams to create more strategic plans that deliver a Consumer First approach that over time that unlock stronger sales
- Collaborate on consumer journeys that help provide integrated content solutions along with a clear through-line that rationalizes how and why our solutions work
- Distill data and findings into clear actionable consumer insights for our brands and products
- Write the narrative and presentations for on-going business needs and arm business and brand owners with a solid understanding of long-range trends affecting consumer behavior
How will you fit into the team?
- A modern pop culture anthropologist who can author a killer brief and has passion for kid’s entertainment
- Ability to operate independently while demonstrating strong problem-solving, presentation, and communication (both written and verbal), skills
What are your skills and experience?
- At least 8 years of experience and incredible proven impact working in advertising, digital platforms, or related fields
- Solid Creative agency experience developing both traditional and digital work in the strategy or planning department
- Expertise in various dimensions of strategic planning: with specific expertise in brand planning (brand foundations and consumer insight) and strong communications planning acumen (integrated connections planning that defines the role and connection of each element)
- Comfortable using data sources from Ipsos to Google to Concept testing
