Job Description
An upcoming short film production is seeking an aspiring cinematographer and two grip and electric (G&E) crew members for a hands-on filmmaking opportunity. This volunteer film crew position is designed for students, emerging filmmakers, and individuals interested in developing practical cinematography, camera operation, and lighting skills. Selected participants will assist with a short film while receiving free cinematography and lighting workshops from an experienced cinematographer and camera lighting technician with nearly 40 years of industry experience. This opportunity is ideal for dedicated aspiring film professionals looking to build their technical knowledge and gain valuable on-set experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with camera operation, first assistant camera duties, or grip and electric tasks during a short film production.
- Support the cinematography team with camera preparation, equipment setup, and basic camera operations.
- Assist with lighting equipment setup and adjustments under professional supervision.
- Collaborate with the cinematographer and production crew to support filming activities.
- Participate in hands-on cinematography and lighting workshops.
- Learn how to assemble, operate, and maintain professional cinema camera equipment.
- Gain practical experience with film lighting techniques and electrical equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and technical instructions throughout production.
- Maintain professionalism and a willingness to learn during filming and training sessions.
