THE CHI IS BACK FOR SEASON 6!!!!
We are posting to give a little info on the 6th Season of the Chi to get you psyched and ready, as we are just a few weeks out from the start of filming!
Filming will go from 01/24/2023 thru August 2023, so there are plenty of opportunities to be had by our awesome local community of background actors. We will be sending a project interest check in the upcoming weeks via POP. If you do not receive a project interest check email by 1/16/23 and want to be considered, please email [email protected] so we can get you on the list.
This season, the Chi is a NON-MANDATED VACCINE PRODUCTION, which means there is no vaccination requirement. YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO COVID TEST PRIOR TO FILMING OR WARDROBE FITTING DATES JUST LIKE ALWAYS. We will not ask about your vaccination status, BUT if it is your own desire to disclose that information to 4 Star Casting and Health & Safety, you are welcome to do so. Please keep in mind, MASKS are going to be required at ALL TIMES unless filming or eating/drinking, social distancing is going to be recommended as much as possible, and you will still have to follow ALL Covid protocols this show asks.
The Chi creators are always looking for fresh faces with specific looks and will photo pick for roles. That said, to be on this show, you MUST HAVE CURRENT PHOTOS IN YOUR PROFILE TAKEN WITHIN THE LAST 3 MONTHS AND NOT OLDER. If you have updated your hairstyle, facial hair, general vibe, your profile must reflect your CURRENT look for us to be able to accurately submit you to the directors. Your photos must be in good lighting, from straight on, with no sunglasses, no selfies, using no filters. Please upload BOTH a FULL BODY shot and a FACE shot that accurately depict your current look. To be extra sure it is your CURRENT look, you may consider holding a piece of paper with today’s date on it in the photo. If for some reason you cannot upload current photos to your profile, you can send them to [email protected] and we can help you out. Please try to do it on your own so we are not getting a flood of photos because your message may be missed. If you are sending to us, ONLY send if you cannot upload. Please consider deleting any photos that are old to allow us to focus on your more recent photos.
All individuals interested in working on the show must have a VALID, UNEXPIRED license/ID. You must have either a document from column A or documents from BOTH columns B+C on the attached I-9 list to be eligible to work on the show. Proof of residency is also required for employment.
MINORS 15 AND UNDER are required to have a work permit to be allowed on set. Work permits are only valid for 1 year upon issuance, so if you have previously gotten a work permit for your child, you should double check that it is still valid (issued less than a year ago), and if not, please delete the expired work permit from your child’s profile and replace it with the new one.
MINORS 17 AND UNDER are required to upload the Parent/Legal Guardian Data Collection Parental Verification and Consent affidavit (which is a new legal document, and not the parental form required to obtain the work permit) to their profiles. This can also be found on the minors section of our website. The PARENT AFFIDAVIT MUST be uploaded as a pdf. If you do not upload the forms (work permit, proof of age, and parent affidavit) in the required format, then your child’s profile will hover in an uncompleted, pending application and they will not be considered as eligible for the show. If you use a false document to upload and/or an expired work permit, upon our review we will delete the document and/or work permit, and make the account inactive until the proper documents are sent to us and verified.
We are looking forward to a great season of an established show—local favorite THE CHI!!
THE BEAR IS BACK FOR SEASON 2!!!!

If you are available, we will later ask you to submit your vaccine information to the production Health & Safety team. (DO NOT SEND TO THE 4 STAR TEAM)
TO BE CONSIDERED: YOU MUST SUBMIT A CURRENT PHOTO, ANSWER ALL THE BELOW QUESTIONS, AND BE AVAILABLE FOR THE LISTED DATES ABOVE.
COVID-19 NOTICE: Production will comply with applicable health and safety laws and regulations relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. Background Actors will be required to comply with Production’s then-applicable COVID-19 protocols, including any advance testing and negative test result requirements. Employment will be contingent upon receiving a negative pre-employment test result. Current protocols require testing approximately two days prior to the start of services. In addition, Production is requiring all background actors who work in Zone A to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment, subject to applicable laws and guild requirements, including reasonable accommodations as required by law. All protocols, including timing and frequency of any required testing, are subject to change.
To continue to be eligible to work in ZONE A, the production requires that you verify that you are up to date on your COVID-19 vaccination.
**NOTE THAT THIS DEFINITION HAS BEEN UPDATED TO INCLUDE THE UPDATED, BIVALENT BOOSTER approved and recommended by CDC on 9/1/22. Per the CDC: “Updated COVID-19 boosters add Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 spike protein components to the current vaccine composition, helping to restore protection that has waned since previous vaccination by targeting variants that are more transmissible and immune-evading.” The full CDC guidelines for vaccination and booster recommendations for adults and minors can be found at: https://www.cdc.gov/…/201…/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html Please note that the CDC has different recommendations for those who are moderately or severely immunocompromised; see: https://www.cdc.gov/…/vaccines/recommendations/immuno.html
“Up-to-date” means the following:
FOR ADULTS 18+
– You have received full primary dose(s) of the Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine

– 12 – 17 years: 2 primary doses AND an updated, bivalent Pfizer/BioNTech booster at least 2 months after second dose
Moderna Primary Vaccine
– Ages 6 mos – 11 years: 2 primary doses
– 12 – 17 years: 2 primary doses AND an updated, bivalent Pfizer/BioNTech booster at least 2 months after second dose
Novavax Primary Vaccine

This production’s HEALTH & SAFETY TEAM will notify you of your requirements after you have submitted your vaccination information. You will then have 21 days after that notification date to complete the above requirements to remain eligible to work for the production. If it has been less than 2 months since your last dose, you will be eligible to work until 21 days after you become eligible for the updated booster. If you receive the booster during those 21 days, you’ll be cleared to work thereafter. Examples for this “Grace Period”: Let’s say you are Vaccinated with no booster OR the 1 booster and Health and Safety NOTIFIES you on 9/1/22 that you need the new shot. That means you are ELIGIBLE for the NEW Booster shot and have 21 days from that date, which you would have to get the new shot by 9/22/22 to continue to work on this show. Let’s say you are Vaccinated, and you got a booster shot on 8/21/22. You are NOT eligible for the NEW Booster shot for 2 months, or on 10/21/22. You can still work until then, but you will have to get the booster shot on this date to be eligible to continue work on the show.
The production company, NOT 4 Star Casting Inc. dba 4 Star Casting, requires that anyone who works on their shows, ages 12 and above, be “UP-TO-DATE” against Covid-19. Accordingly, if you would like to be considered for BG work on “DURANGO 60623,” you must click the email above to re-upload your proof of vaccination if the booster applies or when it applies. You may choose not to do this but without proof of “UP-TO-DATE” status, you cannot be considered for BG work on “DURANGO 60623.” This is a production company policy over which 4 Star Casting Inc dba 4 Star Casting has no control.
