Marketing Manager

Job Description

As Marketing Manager your primary objective is to manage the marketing function for Westfield Century City to execute short- and long-term plans that drive sales, traffic, and NOI growth. The right candidate will be a strong brand marketer who brings passion, creative thinking, and big ideas, with an awareness in retail and strong knowledge of social media and emerging trends. Leading conversations with our retailers, this individual will help to drive sales and traffic to the shopping center through strategic digital campaigns, public relations, social engagement, community partnerships and in-center events. We are looking for an individual who can be both strategic and hands on.

You will support the property with marketing functions including but not limited to collaboration with the corporate team around local marketing strategy, interpretations, and execution of national brand programs, driving awareness and supporting client event activations and pop-ups, budget management, campaign execution and measurement, ensuring that business needs and KPIs are met.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include strategic partnerships with the Marketing Director, General Manager, Events, Operating Management, Tenant Coordination, Facilities and Corporate Marketing Teams.

CONSUMER MARKETING & COMMUNICATION

  • Collaborate with Marketing Director to develop and implement comprehensive marketing plan aligned with business goals, focusing on increasing market share, driving traffic and shopper productivity.
  • Conceptualize and execute innovative marketing programs and initiatives, challenging the industry standard while placing an emphasis on the customer.
  • Manage relationships and processes with key internal departments (digital, brand, strategy) for day-to-day operations including but not limited to website, email, creative content, sales, and data & insights.
  • Develop relationships with retailers to support openings, drive sales, promote deals/events and showcase offerings within market.
  • Partner with events team on client activations, maximizing awareness and reach, strengthening positioning, utilizing all marketing and PR channels.
  • Work in partnership with social media team to build out monthly content calendar, create engaging content, with a keen eye for detail and emerging trends.
  • Lead influencer marketing agency to drive efficiency, efficacy, scalability, and innovation in our approach to support shopping center.
  • Identify and forge strategic partnerships and collaborations that are in line with the shopping center’s objectives and goals.
  • Create presentations, recaps and documentation with a business and marketing driven focus – with the ability to develop, discern and evaluate content.
  • Work collaboratively and autonomously on multiple projects simultaneously with cross-functional teams to bring strategies to life.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing altogether with the potential and attitude required to learn.
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in marketing and measurement.
  • Understand digital and social media channels and platforms in conjunction with traditional media and marketing channels.
  • Ensure all communication meets URW brand guidelines, standards, and tone.

STRATEGIC & FINANCIAL

  • Work with the General Manager and Marketing Director to determine center priorities and assets to allocate marketing resources to the most important key issues.
  • Manage incoming invoices and budget tracker, ensuring vendors are paid in a timely manner Review and interpret local, national, and global competitor activities and behavior for trends and potential ideas/application to URW and future campaigns.
  • Collaborate with General Manager/Asset teams to ensure Marketing Action plan aligns with 5 yr. business plan.
  • Ability to understand and communicate sales, retailer revenue, kick-outs, and percentage rent.

OPERATIONAL

  • Develop strong retailer relations by establishing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the retailer business.
  • Solicit and encourage retailer participation, support, and integration into marketing programs as an effort to promote their business and add value to the overall center marketing plan.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager, Marketing Director and asset partners on the development and execution of marketing campaigns that leverage opportunity for additional revenue.
  • Review post analysis and results for all major campaigns ensuring measurability and quality, sharing results with key stakeholders.
  • Have a detailed understanding of sales performance and traffic results for the center a comparison to key benchmarks in the business / industry and the implication to on-going strategy.

What We Are Looking For

  • B.A. or B.S. degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of Marketing and/or related experience.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic orientation, and general operation experience.
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management skills, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Retail or Shopping Center industry knowledge, experience or expertise preferred.
  • Strength in leadership, strategy, marketing, and financial management.
  • Greater understanding of digital and social media platforms and curating content.
  • Knowledge of real estate and / or retail development, leasing, and operations.
  • Strong analytical capability, especially in understanding and applying marketing/retail trends and marketing communication principles.
  • Must be flexible and able to work event shifts which may include nights, weekends and holidays and manager on duty shifts. Ability to travel as needed.

Marketing Director

What we offer

As a Marketing Director, your primary objective is to lead the marketing function for Westfield in the market, to develop short-term and long-term marketing plans that drive sales, traffic, and NOI growth. You will oversee the marketing function in terms of local marketing strategy, interpretations and execution of national marketing programs, budget allocation and management, campaign development and measurement, support local PR efforts, drive digital engagement, support retailer/brand relationships, lead the local marketing team, and ensure that talent meets business needs.

Scope

  • Create and implement the development of marketing plans inclusive of all phases of center development, in collaboration with corporate marketing team, development and the asset team.
  • Oversee Westfield’s marketing, promotion, and advertising efforts to drive sales and build brand awareness, and ROI.
  • Build and nurture relationships with internal and external partners, retail, and local community partners.
  • Outstanding planning and project management abilities. Strong leadership and communication skills. Creative eye for design, copy, and fashion. Solid understanding of the latest fashion trends.
  • Partner with Corporate Brand Marketing & local creative partners to locally implement brand creative and curate locally meaningful campaigns and programs.
  • Responsible for implementation of the annual Marketing Action Plan to meet marketing goals and KPIs, in collaboration with center’s marketing team member(s), Corporate Marketing, Shopping Center Manager and asset team.
  • Work with the corporate Marketing & Public Relations team to lead annual strategy to include, but not be limited to, creative development, media planning, community engagement, public relations, leasing launches and center opening.
  • Responsible for center’s annual marketing budget and development marketing budget including budget tracking and management.
  • Develop and manage local media relations plans in collaboration with national Communications/PR team, inclusive of local public relations support for marketing campaigns, regional programs, new store openings and crisis management.
  • Partner with Corporate Marketing to hire, on-board, and manage a social media agency, ensuring content is on-brand and drive channel KPIs.
  • Collaborate with Westfield’s Shopping Center Management, Operating Management, Development, Leasing, Brand Ventures, Events and other property and asset staff, to ensure total asset value creation and ongoing alignment.
  • Collaborate with the National Marketing team on National Marketing, analysis & insights, brand and content, media, PR/communications, events and digital marketing programs and initiatives that support Westfield.
  • Develop and manage community relations, outreach, partnerships, and sponsorships for the center.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the asset, including managing on-site media, and supporting Crisis Management communications and PR activity.

Strategic & Financial

  • Retail or Shopping Center industry knowledge, experience or expertise preferred.

  • Familiar with digital and social media platforms and curating content.

  • Understands the RFP process from start to finish, able to create, execute and manage contracts specific to marketing.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, skilled at giving presentations and participating in large meetings with various stakeholders.
  • Experience in executing tactical large- and small-scale marketing activities.

Role Overview

Reporting to the VP, B2B Marketing, the B2B Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and organizing B2B events and tradeshows for the organization. They will also have responsibilities and support the broader marketing team with digital marketing, and demand generation campaigning efforts. The ideal candidate will have exceptional project management, communication, and leadership skills and a working knowledge of planning and executing in-person events, virtual events, and digital marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities

  1. Infuse the Patch Values into your work ethic, every day and every interaction.
  2. Plan and execute B2B event marketing plans which includes national, regional/territory events and tradeshows, sponsorships, and speaking engagements.
  3. Collaborate and support digital marketing and demand generation campaign planning and execution
  4. Organize and coordinate campaigns including direct mail, account-based marketing, email, webinars, and other promotions attracting the organization’s ideal clients.
  5. Manage the lead and opportunity process with the Sales and BDR teams to ensure all opportunities are captured and reported on for all events.
  6. Ensure there is a positive ROI for each event – defined as the equivalent number of new leads generated, that culminate in new sales.
  7. Identify and cultivate new lead opportunity streams for all major events.
  8. Pre-event and onsite communication with delegates, and relationship-building with key stakeholders
  9. Establish staff schedules, arrange air and ground travel, task assignments, and equipment allocation to ensure conformance with department objectives and goals
  10. Represent and deliver service excellence that is in keeping with the organization’s brand
  11. Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations
  12. Negotiate agreements with outside providers and subcontractors to ensure lowest cost and highest quality of service
  13. Work closely with internal and external event planning committees and client groups to define event goals, objectives and specific implementation plans that promote the organizations brand
  14. Establish communication protocols and operating procedures with planning committees, subcontractors and program staff
  15. Source venues, logistics providers (shipping, catering, telephony), acquire supporting technology and coordinate development of materials to execute high-quality events
  16. Maintain a calendar of events and implement a system that enables and anticipates long-term planning and effective event management for the organizations meetings, conferences and events
  17. Work closely with marketing managers, committees and marketing communications staff to effectively support the promotion of events to target audiences
  18. Conduct research and develop feasibility studies to identify new events opportunities for the organization
  19. Oversee procurement purchasing, event registration, and client service needs with regard to catering, meal events, audiovisual, security and rental needs for events
  20. Prepare event programs and confirm all necessary preparations are in order
  21. Identify all aspects of event risk assessment and crisis management planning strategies. This includes, but is not limited to, security for the event if necessary
  22. Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of personnel, subcontractors and vendors as required to successfully execute all aspects of the event
  23. Ensure speakers are briefed and prepared to provide effective presentations and materials
  24. Trouble-shoot and smooth issues relating to the successful execution of the event program
  25. Provide campaign/event analysis, budget recaps and participant feedback and incorporate learning into future plans
  26. Develop reports and distribute as required to sponsors, participants, stakeholders and others.

Qualifications

  1. University degree or college diploma in business, marketing, or related field
  2. Minimum 5 years of Event/Tradeshow management experience in or related field is required
  3. The position is based in Austin, TX and candidates are required to be in-person at our office a minimum of 3 days per week.
  4. Proven negotiating skills with hotels, entertainers and other event vendors
  5. Ability to develop professional relationships in all aspects of the position that result in stable, consistent, reliable, and courteous communication when dealing with other organizations
  6. Ability to problem solve and work independently in a changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines
  7. Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills
  8. Proven ability to take direction and input and to develop effective and engaging branded events that will achieve the organizations goals
  9. Ability to influence and coordinate the efforts of other team members in support of events and other marketing campaigns
  10. Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate budgets and effectively manage expenses

As a Creative Director, Producer, Brand Video and Photography within ASU’s Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management unit, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and execution of compelling short form videos and advertising (15, 30, 60 second formats) and photography that aligns with the brand’s established vision and objectives. Creative will be shared with our audiences in the forms of commercials, YouTube shorts and videos, event videos and social media. Photography is featured in ASU Thrive magazine, on social media and is shared with all communicators as part of ASU brand libraries. The designer & video editor is responsible for creating and editing digital assets for various advertising platforms, encompassing both still imagery and moving image formats. The editor must possess a sharp eye for detail, proficiency in visual storytelling, and a strong understanding of precise brand guideline execution. This role focuses on the creation of a wide array of assets for Brand Marketing, with a particular emphasis on static Shopper Marketing and e-Commerce creative. Job Detail: We are seeking participants for an upcoming Firearms Awareness Campaign designed to create a powerful and educational message about gun ownership and safety. This campaign is focused on featuring real people with genuine experiences and perspectives on firearm ownership.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Portray a principal character in various campaign materials, which may include video, print, and digital formats.
