Job Description: Mulberry Literary, a cutting-edge literary magazine, is excited to announce openings for volunteer Art, Nonfiction, and Poetry Editors, as well as Social Media Curators. We’re looking for passionate individuals with a love for literature and an eye for artistic excellence to join our team starting in March 2024. This is an opportunity to work with a dynamic group of creatives dedicated to promoting the very best in literary and visual arts.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and select submissions for publication, ensuring they meet Mulberry Literary’s standards of excellence.
- Collaborate with contributors to refine and edit pieces for clarity, coherence, and impact while maintaining the author’s voice and vision.
- For Art Editors: Curate visual content, work with artists, and manage the presentation of artworks in the magazine.
- For Social Media Curators: Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance engagement, grow our audience, and promote Mulberry Literary’s content across various platforms.
Requirements:
- A strong passion for art, literature, and/or social media.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience in editing, curating, or social media management is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to volunteer for a minimum agreed period.
Compensation: This is a volunteer position. While there is no financial compensation, volunteers will gain invaluable experience in the literary publishing industry, expand their professional network, and have the opportunity to shape the voice of a respected literary platform. Volunteers will also receive a letter of recommendation upon successful completion of their term.
