Who we need
Reporting to the Vice President, IMAX Head of Global Brand & Film Marketing, we are looking for a Director of Film Marketing. You will partner with internal stakeholders across the IMAX Organization and act as a key point of contact for the day-to-day account management with our studio partners. You will play a business-critical role managing multiple concurrent film campaigns from end-to-end a high-volume, continuously changing environment.
You will have the chance to be part of the success of 60+ films as you draw on your insights to create strategic IMAX-led marketing campaigns. What you’ll be doing:
- Manage relationships. You will nurture partnerships and ensure transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of our film marketing campaigns. You will:
- Develop a deep understanding of the individual studio needs to align the strategy and direction of IMAX-led film campaigns.
- Conduct planned and impromptu meetings to inform and engage partners.
- Work in partnership with Creative to develop consumer-facing marketing messaging and copy guidelines to deliver a consistent IMAX-led film campaign across print and digital.
- Lead initiatives. You will manage the marketing project for each film from inception to execution. You will:
- Collaborate with the cross-functional global marketing teams (Creative, Digital, Exhibitor Marketing, Publicity) and internal teams (Operations, Post, Distribution, etc.) to create clear, consistent, and quality IMAX-led film campaigns on a timely basis.
- Set, manage, and drive the film marketing campaign calendar to ensure quality delivery of 40-60 films per year.
- Develop and refine the film campaign objectives, strategy, and market assessment globally.
- Present the campaign development to internal and external executive marketing leadership teams.
- Manage the campaign execution in partnership with Creative.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Sr Manager Film Marketing to ensure the studio film releases are supported across all aspects of marketing IMAX-led campaigns.
- Manage the projects. You will oversee the IMAX-led film campaign projects from end-to-end. You will:
- Present the Film Marketing Brief to senior executives and management
- Develop and manage campaign timelines.
- Obtain confirmation and approval of activities and activations with corresponding assets,
- Manage approved film budgets.
- Organize and lead cross-functional team meetings.
What you bring:
- The education. You have a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. While an MBA is a plus, the proven ability to think strategically, lead and align business initiatives for measurable growth, build networks, anticipate and adapt to change, and optimize operations, is equally valued.
- The experience. You have 8+ years in entertainment marketing with strong management experience across communications and media projects. You have an understanding of studio film assets and activations. You have exceptional communication and presentation skills. You have a proven track record in developing and enhancing clear and compelling consumer brands, ideally within a consumer goods or media/entertainment environment. You are a strategic and analytical thinker who can leverage customer insights to drive the agenda, lead the film campaign process with autonomy, and proactively identify new opportunities, next steps and processes.
