Position Summary:
The NBA 2K League is hiring a Creative Director to ideate and develop creative assets and content in support of the league’s strategic vision. This role will support the Content & Media team with maintaining creative authenticity throughout the broadcast, production, and content creation processes through dynamic production across all channels and platforms with the end goal of increasing the 2K League’s fanbase and viewership audience. The Creative Director will be a key part of an emerging league within the NBA, partnering with various cross-functional groups to produce results.
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee development and execution of creative and content assets for use across digital, social, and broadcast channels
- Manage quality control of all creative assets and social media
- Ensure brand standards are enforced throughout the organization and in team markets
- Collaborate closely with 2KL Content and Production leads to set the direction for year-round creative strategy and to manage the daily workflow of creative/copy
- Provide copy and creative support for teams, ensuring consistent voice and brand across local assets Ideate and establish a formal framework for the content and creative asset creation process
- Facilitate internal working groups for creative ideation and brainstorming sessions
- Partner with the 2K League Business Operations team to develop content and partner activation opportunities to maximize revenue and engagement
- Work with the Events and PR teams to generate creative assets for 2K League studio events
- Learn and understand all NBA 2K League content solutions and manage the league’s creative asset inventory
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- 8+ years of creative development, production, and storytelling experience
- Proven track record of developing high end creative with support materials (reel) to share in advance
- Understanding of local media market and/or NBA 2K League content production & programming
- Experience in developing creative content solutions for sports
- Expert knowledge of content development/creation processes (i.e., creative briefs, setting realistic turnaround times for creative projects, developing and maintaining brand and other standards)
- Extensive experience in both traditional and digital media formats and experiences
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Knowledge of design best practices, particularly for social media and broadcast, understanding of what it takes to create effective, engaging creative for each platform
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, juggling multiple projects on overlapping deadlines
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience required
