Senior Bridal Designer

Reports back to Owner of the brand (Premier Designer) and creative director.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for assisting the premier designer (namesake) and the creative director in executing 2 collections per year by contributing own designs following the provided direction and leading a small team in the execution all samples.
  • Have experience in running fittings and strong understanding of the process of from initial concept through to production.
  • Must have great experience in balancing a busy T&A calendar while managing the team and its many moving parts both in design and production
  • Submit sketches for review, and execute the sketches once approved. Must show a strong understanding of the female form for and how to create garments that represent our brand ethos.
  • Be well versed in current market trends and able to forecast upcoming trends while maintaining a high level of relevancy and exceptional quality of product/design
  • Ability to oversee customized production orders while simultaneously working on new seasonal development, and facilitate the ease of production by accurately documenting all design details and templates from initial sample to production
  • Help in sourcing and developing seasonal beading/fabrics/embroideries/laces
  • Work with Director of sales to follow merch plan needs, account needs, and show awareness of how the collection is performing in our account base
  • Must be a team player. Strong ongoing communication skills with internal team and outside vendors is essential
  • Oversee production approval process for lab dips and beading

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience in bridal or evening design with demonstrated success
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fitting and costing
  • Strong aesthetic with exceptional silhouette and trend forecasting ability
  • Ability to translate trends to specific targeted consumer needs
  • Follow the execution of all product details, including construction, fabrication, styling detail and cost/value requirements
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to influence, trouble-shoot and problem solve
  • High level of organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and team player
  • Show a firm knowledge and understanding of pattern making, and the ability to effectively communicate with pattern makers to achieve the desired results in fit and design.
