Job Description: We are casting African American women to participate in an important project focused on cervical cancer and the barriers to getting a Pap smear. This project seeks to explore and discuss the various reasons why women may be hesitant to get screened, with the goal of raising awareness and providing a voice to those concerns. Participants will share their personal stories and experiences via a Zoom interview.
Project Overview: Cervical cancer disproportionately affects African American women, yet many face challenges in accessing or deciding to get a Pap smear, which is vital for early detection. This video project aims to highlight the real-life reasons and reservations women have about getting screened, offering a platform for honest and open dialogue.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in a Zoom interview where you will share your personal experiences and feelings about getting or not getting a Pap smear.
- Discuss the reasons behind your hesitancy, fears, or concerns regarding cervical cancer screening.
- Engage in a meaningful conversation that may help others who share similar reservations.
Requirements:
- Must be an African American woman.
- Open to a wide range of ages and experiences.
- Seeking individuals who have either never had a Pap smear or were hesitant to get one initially.
- Must be comfortable discussing personal health experiences in a recorded Zoom interview.
