Job summary
IMDb TV is shaping the future of digital video entertainment. Our mission is to build earth’s most customer-centric ad-supported premium free video service, while making it trivially easy for customers to enjoy. To help us achieve this vision, we are looking for a Creative Director with a passion for movies and TV, to join the team to help lead the creation of dynamic and effective brand creative 360° marketing/ad campaigns for IMDb TV.

The ideal candidate will bring to life thoughtful, groundbreaking and inspirational campaigns that connect with customers across all marketing channels. This candidate should also have experience in brand marketing and building multi-title communications from clip-based content to scripted shoots.

To be successful in this role, this individual needs to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, know how to juggle multiple priorities, have a high level of ownership, and be able to partner and build relationships with a large set of internal and external stakeholders.

Creatively, this individual needs to be passionate, consistently challenge the status quo, take calculated risks, demonstrate an impeccable attention to detail, and be able to tell holistic brand stories.

We are a newly established team, functioning like a start-up. We are scrappy, and there is considerable foundational work to be done. Key to this role is that you are equally comfortable giving creative direction, as well as rolling up your sleeves and building the actual work you envision.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ideate and develop innovative 360° marketing experiences that tell engaging stories, communicate benefits, and drive viewership of IMDb TVs Original and licensed content offerings as well as deepen the affinity for the brand.
  • Craft high level creative strategies, briefs and presentation decks that effectively sell holistic campaign approaches that ladder to defined strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and agencies to develop a single vision for multi-show initiatives and effectively sell your work to peers and senior leadership with conviction and passion.
  • Elevate the creative output of any internal partner or agency/production company vendor to ensure that all marketing assets meet a high level of creativity, innovation and brand association on time and within budget.
  • Forecast resourcing needs and work with key stakeholders to drive a schedule for projects while prioritizing and using resources effectively.
  • Approve creative and manage blockers or obstacles in the process.
  • Identify and implement appropriate processes and level of effort to meet business needs
  • Build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and communicate and collaborate effectively across teams and functions to achieve high-level outcomes, with lower costs.
  • Have a strong POV and creative vision along with a clear, concise ability to provide direction to internal and external partners both written and verbally.
  • Use programs such as Adobe CS (After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) to create artifacts such as creative briefs, presentation decks, sketches, and comps to communicate concepts and bring ideas to life.
  • Contribute to defining global branding guidelines that easily link all creative marketing assets back to the IMDb TV brand.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher within relevant area of study.
  • 8+ years of relevant creative design and marketing experience
  • Exceptional portfolio of work showing innovative creative and breakthrough ideas across media types (AV, print, outdoor, social, digital, events and experiential)
  • Excellent writing skills / Ability to articulate compelling narratives
  • Excellent design and aesthetic sensibility
  • Excellent presentation skills and interactive storytelling ability
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working knowledge of various presentation applications such as Powerpoint and Keynote.
  • Must be able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment
  • Insist on the highest standards and maintain a consistent attention to detail
  • Passion for entertainment
  • Ability to manage and track budgets for creative asset development
  • Experience with building brand identity systems and guidelines

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Videographer/Editor position requires skills in a high-volume production environment specializing in the final storytelling of a project. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the filming and editing process for company video projects.  This position requires a diverse knowledge of industry standard types of cameras and production equipment along with basic Avid editing skills.  They will work closely with the Producers, Videographers and Editors on staff to ensure projects are completed on time and with the highest technical and aesthetic standards. They are responsible for maintaining the company’s production assets and working with the department production calendar so that equipment is ready for each project.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support production staff with variety of projects using production gear including various models of cameras, lenses, tripods, and other gear related to shooting.
  • Work with Production team to build sets for production needs.
  • Assist with general duties.
  • Maintaining production equipment before and after projects.
  • Coordinate the tracking of all production assets.
  • Assist with research and ordering of equipment.
  • Support with reporting and tracking maintenance and repairs of production equipment.
  • Ingest media into company’s archiving system and prepare media for Editors.
  • Log footage and edit basic to intermediate level projects.
  • Operate additional cameras as needed for production needs including live events.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Minimum college or trade school experience in production or similar field..
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical field experience working in multiple aspects of film and video production.
  • Color grading at intermediate level.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Thorough understanding of fishing, hunting, and other outdoor skills as required to best work with production team in outdoor recreation company.
  • Strong work ethic. Outgoing personality with ability to interact within group of creative individuals in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. Willingness to react with short notice to changes in daily routine.
  • Willing to travel as required – often locations require extensive driving and multiple night stays with early and late hours.
  • Strong communication skills – able to understand direction and make themselves understood when communicating objectives for accomplishing story lines or goals of a production.
  • Thorough knowledge of Avid non-linear editing systems, specifically the Avid Media Composer or similar.
  • Strong working knowledge of various codecs, containers and file types used in today’s media environment.
  • Able to work within a team environment including in the field or studio and in the post process, editing and finishing.
  • Able to lift and carry heavy equipment in variety of terrain and conditions from very hot to very cold.
  • Good driving record, able to secure Missouri Operator’s License Class E.
  • Good organizational skills: able to keep multiple projects balanced at any one time
  • Strong video resume required.  This resume should demonstrate samples from all of the areas mentioned above.
