Starr Hill Brewery is pleased to be hiring a General Manager to manage both of its Charlottesville-area Tap rooms, located in the Dairy Market in Downtown Charlottesville and in the main production facility in Crozet. The GM will be responsible for all promotional, marketing, and operational performance of the tap rooms with the goal of maximizing customer experience and financial performance. This position reports to Starr Hill’s Director of Retail Operations with monthly reporting to the Finance Department.

Operations 

  • Manage all aspects of daily operations, including staffing, cleaning standards, organization, and internal/external communication 
  • Recruit, train, and manage tap room employees with high standards of customer service and competency 
  • Maintain all weekly beer and merchandise inventories and internal orders 
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with all food and entertainment partners 
  • Design promotional strategies to increase sales and profitability 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas of operations, ensuring the highest quality of customer and staff experience 
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all activities are conducted within local, state, and federal laws 

Marketing/Programming 

  • Create and manage all aspects of customer programming to maximize traffic and dollar sales 
  • Develop and execute all forms of traditional advertising as well as charitable engagement within established budget goals 
  • Manage the generation of social media content and engagement for the local tap room handles across digital platforms 
  • Work with the corporate marketing team to ensure cohesion with corporate brewery strategy (new brand releases, corporate marketing campaigns, etc.) 
  • Identify local sponsorship and special event opportunities  
  • Coordinate with the pilot brewing team to ensure small-batch products are scheduled and utilized for promotional purposes  
  • Manage and grow relationships with each location’s Mug Club and ensure the best possible membership experience 

Reporting to Senior Management 

  • Assist in the development of an annual budget 
  • Participate in a monthly business review with the Finance department 
  • Collaborate with other retail GMs to share ideas and content for best practices 
  • Communicate customer feedback on Starr Hill brands and experiences to management 

Qualifications 

  • At least 3-5 years of hospitality management experience

The Role

As the leader of monetization you will be responsible for maximizing our partners revenues on a day to day basis with support of a team of 3 direct reports. We are now looking for a Partner Manager focused on Streamers and Gaming Creators to join our team. Working from either Los Angeles, San Francisco or remotely you’ll help ensure streamers and gaming creators have success on Oooh. The Partner Manager will be responsible for driving all facets of streamer partners’ participation on Oooh from on-boarding, to monetization and overall content strategy. You will be the front-facing lead driving the growth of our streamer and creator partners and the face of Oooh to these communities. The bar is very high, but we’re excited to make this as fun, challenging and rewarding for the right person.

Ideally, you’ve done it before, and you have spent time working with gaming creators at the biggest UGC video platforms like Twitch, YouTube, etc., and have a contact list full of creators, managers and influencers you call ‘friends’. If you are right for this role, you know so much of this type of work is built off long-term trust and genuine connection.   • Have negotiated, closed and executed on a variety of partnerships involving streamers and have first-hand knowledge of the standard contracts and terms used in these deals.
  • Well-versed in the revenue models used by streamers and the corresponding tech platforms and creator tools they use.
  • Have managed other partnerships, account managers, and support roles within a content platform.

The OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival is an international and culturally diverse 501c3 nonprofit organization that offers diverse films that represent a great cross-section of the LGBTQ+ experience. Our mission is to offer a variety of films that Entertain, Educate and Inspire our audiences. As we are everywhere on the planet, these films come from all over, from the smallest corners of our planet, to our largest cities, from our past to our future and all in-between. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategy and Vision – Develop and implement a clear, long-term strategic plan that furthers OUTshine’s mission, builds on current programs and forges a clear direction for the future.
  • Programming – Hire, motivate and oversee staff to guide the quality development and execution of year-round programming, to deliver on OUTshine’s mission and procure content and events that are relevant, compelling, and deliver impact to the community. Commit to developing and growing audiences and membership to be increasingly diverse and reflective of the entire LGBTQ+ community.

Support Board operations and administration. Maintain a communicative, supportive relationship between Board and staff.
  • Strategic Partnerships – Leverage current and build new strategic partnerships with corporate, non-profit, individual, educational, and community-based groups. Ensure successful execution of partnership agreements by both parties. Actively approach and cultivate new partnerships to strengthen OUTshine’s profile in the South Florida community and elevate its prominence nationally.
  • Hands-on management of all events from Set-up throughout,setting up or securing a team to do so and making sure the orderly process is totally planned organized and managed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ working with non-profit organizations with experience in events, marketing, leadership as a Director level or above. (Experience being part of a film festival team is a plus).

We are seeking an ACD/Art Director with a head for big, culture-driving ideas and the hands to bring them to life through exceptional craft as Liquid Sunshine enters an exciting new phase of growth in capabilities, brand assignments, and creative excellence. You’ll expand your skills and raise your creative game as you collaborate with a diverse team of award-winning writers, art directors, designers, and producers to concept and produce work across virtually every channel.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

•Create culture-driving, business-building big brand work in every medium, from mass broadcast film and web video, to targeted social and influencer campaigns, to attention-getting activation and sponsorship programs

•Apply your tasty, smart, and conceptual visual skills to a variety of other brand and corporate needs, including video and photo shoots of our products, people, and places; and content to support our Diversity & Inclusion, Health & Wellness, and Sustainability efforts

•Concept and produce content at the forefront of new media and technology, including e-Com, mobile gaming, DCO, DTC and everything else that’s new and next

•See your ideas through from concept to execution, working with producers, project managers and other internal and external partners to execute with brilliance

•Collaborate with the Brand Design group to bring to life ideas in print, OOH, digital, retail, and social as needed

•Proactively identify opportunities to tap into or incorporate the latest trends in pop culture, creativity, executional approaches & techniques, and broader inspirations, innovations and interruptions

•Champion and contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, personal growth, winning, and fun

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

•A minimum of 8 years of experience as an Art Director (Sr, ACD or CD) or Designer at an agency, brand, publisher, or social media platform

•A killer portfolio of smart, entertaining, culture-driving work that demonstrates a talent for coming up with simple, original ideas and innovative approaches across channels, especially in digital and social

•A strong ability to concept multiple ideas quickly

•The visual skills and attention to detail to execute superbly in a variety of mediums

•The flexibility to work as part of a team one day, independently the next. You adapt to new ideas, processes and business problems with ease and enthusiasm

•Determination, ingenuity, and a great attitude in the face of obstacles, deadlines, and ambiguity

•The optimism to think bigger, the curiosity to dig deeper, and the passion to do better

•Proficiency with the appropriate Mac-based tools of your trade (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Sketch, Keynote, et al)

•Strong comping skills required

•Editing and gif/animation/motion skills are a big plus

•A love for, and experience in, the beverages category

•In-house experience a bonus

•Determination, ingenuity, and a great attitude in the face of obstacles, deadlines, and ambiguity

•The optimism to think bigger, the curiosity to dig deeper, and the passion to do better
