Harmonic are delighted to be working on a retained basis with one of the UK’s most exciting and renowned live entertainment businesses in the search for their next Finance Director. With an international presence, the company have grown from strength to strength since inception, organising and promoting some of the UK’s most popular events and shows.

The Business:

After developing an international foothold in recent years, our client is leading the way in their field. With turnover at circa £15 million for the financial year, the business is back to being on strong financial footing post Covid, looking to grow further this year. The business has also just been subject to a £5 million fundraise, with a significant amount of capital allocated specifically to aid the growth of the business.

With a strong team with established finance professionals, the role will be the number one in finance reporting into a CEO who cultivates a great company ethos of mentorship and development. There is also a commitment to inclusivity and diversity, with a sociable and fun team throughout the business.

The Role:

Reporting directly into the Directors, this hybrid role will be responsible for the management and development of a finance team of 2, with preliminary plans to build out the team later in the year. Your responsibilities will include overarching control of the finance function, ensuring that a high level of financial control is established and maintained. As well as the general accounting duties, such as forecasting and budgeting, this position will be highly commercial. The Directors are looking for a Finance Director who is commercially astute enough to play an important role in setting the commercial and financial strategy of the business.

Duties:

Duties will include:

• Overall management of the Finance function
• Working closely with the Directors to produce the commercial and financial strategy
• Responsibility for the budgeting and forecasting
• Preparation of annual accounts
• Supervising and reviewing Management Accounts

What we need to see (essential):

· ACCA/CIMA/ACA Qualified

· Experience managing a finance team

· Strong personal interest in live music and events!

What we’d like to see (beneficial):

· Prior experience in the Events/Festivals/Entertainment sector

· Experience working in consumer and supplier facing businesses.

Salary: £110,000 – £150,000

Responsibilities

• Develop brave, smart ideas that are on strategy
• Work with a partner that elevates your work while you elevate theirs
• Participate in client and internal creative review meetings, with the ability to receive and process feedback and offer solutions in real-time
• Expertly present your work internally and to clients employing beautiful art renders on an editorial-quality slide deck
• Lead design of a variety of creative materials for brand campaigns, social media efforts, and digital efforts
• Be a role model and advocate for collaboration across the company
• Provide ongoing thought leadership internally across the agency and externally with clients
• Have a focused eye for innovation, informing the company of the next biggest thing that can positively affect our client’s business

Requirements

• Applicants must be legally able to work on-site in Austin, TX. We cannot sponsor work visas for this role at this time.
• 5+ years of experience working in a market-leading agency environment in an Art Direction role
• Impressive online portfolio of work demonstrating a proven track record of conceptual creative ability and judgment showcased across a variety of projects—namely in film, social, and web content—for top-tier clients
• Ability to collaborate with anyone; we’re not looking for “superstars” or people whose ego gets in the way of creative development. We need empathetic leaders who teach by example
• Expert at campaign development and execution
• A confident but respectful nature—not afraid to suggest new ideas or resistant to accepting them
• Skilled at negotiating and incorporating client input into ongoing projects
• Strong understanding of what a good creative brief is and when to push back / request revisions
• Knowledgeable about marketing plans, including objectives, business strategies, and success measurements
• Understand client product and business challenges in relation to overall market
• Senior-level client presentation ability
• Excellent oral and written skills
