Job Description

An independent short film production is seeking a Director of Photography (DOP) to join a small and collaborative crew. The film follows a granddaughter spending a summer day in the garden with her grandparents and aims to capture intimate, naturalistic storytelling. Experience in documentary-fiction filmmaking is a plus but is not required. This opportunity is ideal for cinematographers interested in character-driven independent productions.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as Director of Photography for the short film.
• Collaborate with the director and production team to establish the film’s visual style.
• Plan and execute camera setups, shot composition, and lighting strategies.
• Capture high-quality footage that supports the story’s emotional tone.
• Work efficiently with a small production crew.
• Assist in maintaining production schedules and workflow during filming.

Requirements

• Experience operating professional camera equipment.
• Strong understanding of cinematography, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a small production team.
