Job Responsibilities

Requirements

Compensation

Job Description
An upcoming non-union commercial for the Virginia Department of Health is seeking local child actors for both a lead role and featured extras. This educational spot focuses on lead prevention through a creative birthday party scene. Casting directors are looking for a young girl to take on a fun, spirited lead speaking role, along with several children to portray partygoers in the background. All talent must be based in Virginia as no travel or housing will be provided.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform in a scripted scene as part of a PSA centered on lead prevention

• Lead talent will deliver lines with emotional clarity, curiosity, and charm

• Background kids will act naturally in party scenes, participating in light background conversations and action

• Follow direction from the director and crew both during self-tape and on set

• Maintain focus and energy during a short shoot day

Requirements

• Lead Role: Female child, ages 6–8, with hair long enough for pigtails or braids

• Lead talent should have a playful, innocent voice and be able to express curiosity and sass

• Extras: Boys and girls, ages 6–8, all ethnicities

• Must be based in Virginia; no travel or housing provided

• Lead submissions require a self-tape and may include a Zoom callback

• All children should be comfortable on camera and able to take direction well

Compensation

• Lead: $1,000 flat rate for session and usage, plus 20% if represented by an agent

• Extras: $450 flat rate, plus 20% if represented

Job Responsibilities

• Pose for nonrecognizable hand modeling video and still photography

• Wear a ring on the pinky finger to assist with sizing and fit

• Maintain professional composure and hand positioning throughout filming

• Follow on-set direction for consistent hand movement and appearance

Requirements

• Male talent, ages 25–45

• Hands must be well-groomed with no visible tattoos, scars, or signs of nail biting

• No nail polish or color; talent with painted nails must be prepared to remove polish

• No hand or arm tattoos

• Ability to submit two photos of both hands in one shot and an image of your pinky ring size

Compensation

• Session rate: $478.08 + 10% agency fee

• Additional $150 for sitting fee

• $150 for one year of internet usage

• Travel mileage may be reimbursed if required
