Storyboard Media is looking for a full-time Video Producer to join our small, but mighty in-house team.

The Video Producer will be responsible for creating and maintaining production budgets and timelines, coordinating in-house and freelance creative resources, working closely with the creative leads to produce the best quality deliverables, managing client expectations, and keeping clients informed of progress throughout the project. This role is equal parts Producer, Project Manager, and Cat Wrangler.

Storyboard helps B2B marketing, sales, and employer branding teams leverage video by developing video strategies; production, distribution, and promotion of video; and reporting and analysis of video metrics. The Video Producer will be responsible for:

  • creating and maintaining efficient timelines for each project
  • hiring and negotiating rates with contractors, ranging from strategists and writers to on-set crew and editors
  • keeping projects on time and on budget.
  • facilitating effective communication between the creative team and clients, when appropriate
  • keeping clients up to date on project progress on a regular basis

The Video Producer will have:

  • the organizational skills to manage multiple projects with multiple team members at once
  • the communication skills to motivate and keep multiple team members accountable
  • the management skills that allow you to play either good cop or bad cop, as necessary

A given day might include:

  • sending project status update videos to clients
  • sourcing candidates for video copywriting work
  • connecting with a post-production contractor for a progress report
  • leading a new project kickoff meeting
  • organizing production files on Google Drive, Studiobinder, or frame.io
  • finalizing a production budget
  • onboarding a new contractor into our payroll platform

Prior experience managing video production projects and knowledge of video production industry terminology are required. Local contractor contacts and experience with agency-like strategic engagements or planning and running paid ad campaigns is a plus.

This is a full-time position, available immediately. Storyboard operates on a hybrid work model, with Monday and Friday available to work remotely, and Tuesday-Thursdays expected in our Durham office – where you’ll actually have your own office. However, this job could be fully remote for the right candidate.

Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Record clear, high-quality audio during on-location shoots.

  • Collaborate closely with the director, DP, and editor to maintain consistent sound design and tone.

  • Set up and manage all sound recording equipment, including boom mics, lavaliers, and mixers.

  • Ensure proper sound levels, minimize background noise, and troubleshoot technical issues during filming.
