Assistant Video Producer, UCAN AV Studio
Seeking an individual who will support our clients’ Creative Content Managers on the AV Studio team (specifically for US/CANADA markets). Key responsibilities include being able to ensure AV creative content assets are QC’d, delivered on time for maximum impact, and supporting the overall mechanics of executing shoots and delivery of content to all internal partners. Being a passionate and excited storyteller, being hyper organized, and being collaborative are critical to the success of this position.
Ideal Candidate.
This person is someone who has the ambition of being a producer and/or editor and can multitask well. Someone who is able to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively against deadlines in a high volume environment with grace and patience. The candidate may have a history of working at a large agency or within an internal creative department at a studio (i.e. Disney’s Hive or Uni’s Inside Job). At their core, they understand project management and have an appreciation for and a passion for creativity, and most importantly for FILM. They enjoy logistics, planning, and creation relatively equally – they are excited by all aspects of the job, not just the shiny fun/glamorous parts.
The candidate is someone who is detail-oriented and able to catch small mistakes naturally: misspelling, poorly formatted documents, as well as technical errors with video (i.e dropped frames, wrong color, missing fades, wrong slate, wrong frame rate, wrong resolution etc).
This person is tech-savvy when it comes to post production workflows and software, while also
understanding the basics of production gear.
Qualifications:
This person has 3 – 4 years experience working across TV or Films in a marketing, publicity creative or production capacity. This person LOVES film, always seeks ancillary show content – searching for and scouring the internet for more. Creative content, talent interviews, everything they can get their hands on when it comes to the shows they love and watch. They are excited for the opportunity to work in a service-oriented role but have ambitions for creative excellence within a marketing or publicity capacity.
Responsibilities.

- Collaborative – open to taking direction and executing on it, though also comfortable proposing new workflows, and sharing ideas (creative or otherwise), for the sake of efficiency and scalability when appropriate

- Manage delivery schedules of final assets
- Keep track of important dates and milestones
- Start of productions, access to cuts (to get started on clips)
- Organize and create documents
- Shoot concepts / divided by talent
- SOW’s / MSA’s when setting up vendors
- Attention to technical detail
- Clips – a knack for identifying key moments in a given show or episode with an understanding for how they can be used (online debuts, broadcast interviews (daytime vs. late night), etc)
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively while meeting deadlines
- Assist the Creative Content Manager title lead with securing talent approvals and ensuring notes are properly executed (QC) as revisions are delivered
- Ensure that all shoot files are easy to trackable within our internal asset management tools/systems
- Update internal tracking tools with appropriate links and files as needed for a given campaign
- Capable of assisting in all facets of a shoot (remote or in person when safe/appropriate) however necessary. Including:
- Operate Open Reel/remote application software when needed
- Creating consistent documents and tracking grids across a given shoot for cross functional team access and visibility
- Scheduling
- Organize shoot files / Transcode / upload / create links at wrap
- Follow up with internal/external partners re: transcripts, file delivery, etc in order to facilitate the execution of creative kicking off
- Help with shoot and creative content planning from start to finish: Reviewing creative, helping with shot lists, broll capture needs,, reviewing and/or drafting EPK questions for talent interviews, and more
