Digital Marketing Manager

Miami Waterkeeper (MWK) is an award-winning non-profit organization dedicated to protecting Biscayne Bay and the surrounding watershed. Miami Waterkeeper is seeking a dynamic Digital Marketing Manager who is passionate about our mission and desires to support our clean water goals. The Digital Marketing Manager will serve as the organizational storyteller and will implement a comprehensive communications strategy to advance the mission of Miami Waterkeeper. The position will create awareness and interest within our audiences and stakeholder groups, driving traffic to engage with digital content by managing Miami Waterkeeper’s social media platforms, website, email marketing, and blogs. The position will also promote all areas of Miami Waterkeeper’s work and impact (science, policy, education and outreach, and development) while ensuring consistent messaging and branding. This individual should be well-versed in all aspects of content creation, including graphic design, video production, and writing. This individual should also have experience in managing a brand’s digital presence, including but not limited to social media management, website management, and email marketing. Finally, this individual will monitor, interpret, and grow digital media analytics and will improve efficiencies by automating processes wherever possible. The goal for this position is to promote the story of Miami’s waterways and the organization in a way that is easily digestible to the general public.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation

  • Plan, produce, and create a program of digital content to be used across all Miami Waterkeeper digital channels, increasing engagement with audiences and stakeholders
  • Develop all materials for ongoing marketing and other communication efforts
  • Develop creative ideas, suggest new innovative ways of delivering digital content, and keep up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends
  • Collect photos and videos across Miami Waterkeeper events and activities
  • Maintain an organized digital media library
  • Create and edit content – graphics, photos, videos, captions, blogs, etc. – to increase storytelling throughout the organization

Digital Media Management

  • Social Media
  • Implement day-to-day activities on social media accounts, creating and sharing clear, compelling, and informative content with attractive graphics and easy-to-understand captions
  • Respond to direct messages, tags, comments, etc. on all social media accounts
  • Coordinate with the science team on responding to pollution reports that come in through social media
  • Grow social media followers via targeted campaigns
  • Website
  • Manage the Miami Waterkeeper website, keeping content up-to-date, timely, and relevant
  • Write, design, and publish materials for organizational blog
  • Assist in the website redesign project, led by the Director of Advancement & Donor Impact and executed by a third-party contractor
  • Email Marketing
  • Produce and monitor targeted email series to different audiences to boost personalized interactions with constituents
  • Develop and send monthly newsletters
  • Advertising
  • Develop creative content (visuals and written content) for advertisements
  • Set up ads in software ad platforms
  • Work with marketing retargeting software company to maximize ROI on software investment

Analytics and Other

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of digital channels/activities using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, email performance, etc. 
  • Evaluate effectiveness of marketing strategies and use the data to offer suggestions on how to maximize use of digital platforms with future activities
  • Prioritize and schedule work effectively, anticipating both internal and external problems and adjusting the allocation of resources and time accordingly
  • Attend events, committee meetings, and functions as and when appropriate

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with other MWK departments to advance the mission of the organization, training staff on how to collect and organize their own content with ad hoc support
  • Assist with database management, including inputting new constituents and generating targeted outreach lists
  • Ensure consistent and proper use of MWK’s brand guidelines
  • Develop a strong familiarity with the organization and its program-related activities
  • Proofread as necessary

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in marketing or communications, or equivalent experience in a digital marketing role
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional marketing experience
  • Enthusiasm and proven experience in running digital marketing campaigns, producing digital content and using digital marketing best practices
  • Demonstrable and relevant digital marketing experience with hands-on practice in social media management, copywriting, graphic design, branding, email marketing, video production and editing, data analytics, and on-time project management
  • Experience developing and managing social media campaigns across channels such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Strong written communication skills, including proofreading
  • Strong creative skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Understanding of graphic design elements and best practices
  • Experience in photography and videography, including capturing images/videos, editing, and delivering content across digital channels
  • Understanding of branding guidelines and ability to innovate while maintaining brand consistency
  • Experience in developing targeted email marketing campaigns
  • Ability to interpret digital analytics and metrics and understanding of the tools used to monitor, manage and evaluate them
  • Ability to deliver a range of concurrent projects on time
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and structure work schedules.

SALARY RANGE

$50,000-$65,000
