POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Social Media is passionate about the outdoors, conservation and all things social. Through partnership with leadership throughout the organization, the Director will be responsible for increasing audience engagement, leveraging data metrics and executing creative campaigns that focus on the outdoor image and authentic story that Bass Pro Shops is known for. The Director will influence and manage the overall social media strategies for Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and White River Marine Group entities in support of the mission to inspire everyone to enjoy, love and conserve the great outdoors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and drives Bass Pro’s social media strategy across multiple platforms to maximize reach and engagement towards target audience
  • Designs and establishes efficient processes to source and create multimedia content for YouTube, IG, FB, Twitter, TikTok, etc.
  • Directs cross-functional projects and teams to build content that is consistent with the brand image, relevant and delivers desired results
  • Establishes and manages external agency partnerships to ensure effectiveness
  • Strategizes and executes media campaigns and content that align with brand image and aesthetics while expanding Bass Pro’s social influence
  • Partners with leadership from around the organization to align the brand’s creative vision and ensure consistency with company values and initiatives
  • Researches and closely monitors upcoming trends and innovations for latest platforms and digital technology
  • Manages and oversees engagement and social listening strategy on a daily and long-term basis
  • Provides leadership to the social media team by coaching, mentoring and ensuring appropriate requisite skillsets
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Preferred Degree: Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of digital marketing leadership experience with a specialization in social media

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Advanced knowledge of all primary social media channels with proven ability to innovate towards emerging platforms and trends
  • Experience working on paid social media campaigns and partnering with influencers and public figures
  • Ability to analyze market research, metrics and data to establish creative solutions
  • Demonstrated track record of growing a large social media presence and increasing followership
  • Experience in a retail or outdoor company preferred
  • Proven experience with project management and ability to drive deadlines and prioritizes based on organizations needs
  • Passionate about Bass Pro’s outdoor mission and vision for conservation
