Overview
Job Description
The Manager, Global Brand Marketing, collaborates with the Director, Global Brand Marketing to develop global product and marketing strategies for home entertainment across the Universal Pictures live-action film slate.
In addition to working on global strategy, the Manager leads the execution of product and marketing campaigns in the United States and Canada, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve performance goals.
Responsibilities
Product and Campaign Marketing
- Build and maintain fundamental knowledge and understanding of home entertainment consumer trends and habits globally.
- Develop global home entertainment marketing plan documents for Universal live-action films in collaboration with cross-functional teams and international marketing leads and communicate those plans globally.
- Write strategic briefs and guide the development of global marketing assets and media plans to maintain a coherent and authentic brand voice and strategy for each film across platforms and channels.
- Act as the central point of contact for each campaign, serving international marketing teams and cross-functional marketing teams to help achieve their aims.
- Review theatrical performance (DBO, IBO, Exit Polls, Reviews, and Social Conversation) to refine and finalize the positioning and release strategy. Disseminate the North American strategic direction to the cross-functional Marketing teams (creative, publicity, digital marketing, customer marketing, promotions, digital distribution marketing).
- Create strategic media briefs and creative briefs to guide the development of global marketing assets for global physical and digital platforms.
- Communicate legal, talent, and filmmaker approval guidelines clearly to all stakeholders and help facilitate approvals.
- Develop, manage, and own the North American P&L for each title, informed by financial guidance and data to recommend revenue goals and appropriate spend levels.
- Budget marketing spends based on strategic priorities and operational needs to support all cross-functional marketing teams and keep spending within approved budget levels.
- Assess North American physical and digital release dates and windowing strategies to recommend optimal release dates.
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing and Digital Distribution teams to manage North America digital marketing campaigns across paid, earned, and owned media.
- Collaborate with other departments across the studio such as franchise development, games, consumer products, music and theme parks to develop integrated campaigns based on key properties.
- In addition to the theatrical film slate, evaluate release opportunities on non-theatrical live action titles, working with Domestic sales, international markets, technical operations and external partners to identify opportunities and plan optimal release strategies.
- Prepare filmmaker presentation materials by gathering information globally and editing to produce an integrated document appropriate and understandable for people without a marketing background.
- Collect and analyze post-release insights (what worked/didn’t work) to guide future release strategies and recommend process improvements.
- Continuously support and share best practices globally.
Retail Strategy and Customer Marketing
- Build and maintain expertise and industry knowledge of the physical and digital home entertainment retail landscape.
- Align with retail marketing and sales teams to keep physical and digital retailers engaged in the home entertainment category.
- Develop approved sales materials to sell titles to partners.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of marketing, project management, data analytics, and/or media planning experience with a demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives.

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
