Job Description
Role Summary:
The Senior Technical Support Analyst will provide high-level and specialized support for all aspect of IT film production. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in leveraging a variety of technology-related solutions to support various workflows within a fast-paced, rapidly changing film production environment. They must enjoy interacting with customers and be willing to collaborate with team members as needed to tackle varying degrees of challenges within film production.
Essential Responsibilities
- Design, build, manage and support production network server environments (including but not limited to, servers QNAP NAS’s, workstations, firewalls, databases/services if needed) for multiple global productions.
- Lead the VFX requirement gathering sessions
- Build and maintain virtual machines running various production software
- Backup, restore, and archive processes on various media and platforms. Both local and remote.
- Setup an IO workstation (usually iMac) to be able to pull/send Aspera transfers to and from external hard drives.
- Setup/configure JUMP Desktop on Media Composer machines for editors that need remote access.
- Provide remote access tools for various workflows.
- Collaborate with multiple 3rd party technology vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers on location.
- Provide documentation and support in a multi-OS environment for various departments within production.
- Collaborate with existing network team and build a network infrastructure that meets NBCUniversal network security standards.
- Assess security requirements and recommend best practices and solutions.
- Setup Wi-Fi and SSIDs for the production office.
- Utilize Palo Alto/FortiGate firewalls with up-to-date UTM and support.
- Configure firewall network VLAN’s.
- Configure firewall QOS per departmental VLAN for network traffic shaping.
- Configure firewall to allow VLAN access to network server.
- Create and manage multifactor VPN services/rules/accounts.
- Provide accurate inventory updates including detailed description of deployed environments.
- Make sure requests/incidents from users are completed in a reasonable time.
- Utilizing cloud services and testing POCs to streamline technology for productions.
- Collaborate and work closely with other NBCUniversal departments that support features (IE Marketing, Creative Technology, Post Production, Post Sound, etc.)
- Stay up-to-date with VFX technologies and propose solutions to senior leadership to improve efficiency within VFX workflows
- Collaborate with production vendors (IE Proof, MPC, DNEG, Co3/Efilm, 3rd Floor, etc.) as needed.
Qualifications
Qualification/ Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in desktop, server, network technology in multi-platform environments (MAC OS, Windows, NAS, Linux, VMs, various networking technologies, various cloud technologies).
- Experience supporting collaboration software (O365 Suite)
- Must be able to troubleshoot and problem solve in a time sensitive environment.
- Must be able to design data workflows and network solutions.
- Experience with creating technical and training/user documentation.
- Must be flexible on scheduling to include some night or weekend work.
- Must be able to commute into the office as needed.
- Must be able to travel to film productions worldwide.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs of equipment.
- Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
- In select work settings or where jurisdictionally mandated, must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or adhere to enhanced protocols.

- Good understanding of how things work in the Media and Entertainment industry as well as the intersection of where production and technology meet.
- Understand the technical needs of productions and term deals worldwide.
- Production on-set experience is a plus.
- Database experience is a plus.
- Digital asset management (DAM) experience is a plus.
- Familiar with concept to camera workflows is a plus.
Salary range: $120,000 – $150,000
