Calling all professional video storytellers! Come join us at Leidos and tell the stories of a company that is helping the world become safer, healthier, and more efficient.

 

Leidos is seeking a full-time Senior Video Producer to support its Reston VA location. This position allows for partial remote work.

We need a script-to-screen producer, so candidates should be proficient in all aspects of video production: scriptwriting, videography, audio, lighting, greenscreen, and video editing. Motion graphics and some VFX ability highly preferred.

As part of our Corporate Marketing & Communications Department, you’ll will work on a variety of projects supporting social media, marketing, executive communication, advertising, and trade shows. This includes video product like explainers, high-energy promos, animated digital signage, social media videos, and executive updates.

You should also be comfortable working with vendors and hired crews, as well as being able to oversee outsourced projects.

Our ideal teammate is a self-starter, looking to actively contribute in a meaningful way. Not looking for just button pushers, but thoughtful content creators. Strong project management and multi-tasking skills are required, as well as good communication, attention to detail, and receptiveness to feedback. This is a corporate position, so you should be able to navigate the corporate world easily, while retaining the soul and creativity of an artist.

Leidos Life

This position allows for some flexibility to work from home, and reasonable flexibility in working hours. When not working remotely, you’ll work out of our beautiful Reston office, with in-house cafeteria, free soda, pool table, classic video game room, and a balcony with gorgeous views of the DMV.

The employee will have access to a host of creative software and tools, like plugins, motorized sliders, dolly tracks, gimbals, Rokinon lenses, and a small photo/video studio.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A link to sample work or demo reel
  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant field (or relevant experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in Video Production
  • Skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro (experience w/ similar editing platforms acceptable)
  • Skilled in motion graphics (preferably Adobe After Effects)
  • Experienced with professional-grade cameras (e.g., Sony FS7, Blackmagic Ursa Mini)
  • Experienced with lighting, particularly for studio/greenscreen scenarios
  • Experienced with scriptwriting for corporate-style videos.
  • Ability to pull together crews for productions, and/or relationships in the local production industry

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 – $111,000.00 – $149,850.00

Job Overview: 

  • Create flawless and accurate packaging graphics to meet HC/FDA regulatory compliance in addition to various brand guidelines. 
  • Coordinate artwork, technical and data needs. 
  • Create accurate 2D, 3D, and digital mechanics. 
  • Proof and review pre-press files to ensure the consistency and eliminate any issues during production. 
  • Adhere to commercialization processes ensuring projects meet all requirements and timing. 
  • Set up and maintain organized file database system.

Project Coordination:

  • Must follow through diligently with details of all projects from understanding design-turnover to final production turnover-making rounds of corrections, making changes as necessary. 
  • Collect accurate technical data, content, and print requirements to develop and print packaging artwork. 
  • Status reporting on projects. Track & communicate project development progress and changes with Brand, Regulatory, and Creative. 
  • Create and/or coordinate materials for line review mock-ups. 

 

Labelling Development:

  • Create packaging graphic layouts and mechanical files for packaging & line extensions for different components (e.g., labels, tubes, boxes, trays) using Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Validate art execution against content application and all packaging specifications provided. 
  • Secure all creative files to central server; maintain organization. 
  • Load packaging data and artwork PDFs onto digital asset database system (Share file). 
  • Route artwork electronically to cross functional teams in packaging system for approvals and follow progress to meet or exceed deadlines. 
  • Working with Operations team on reviewing the componentry samples. 
  • Ensure that printer’s proofs are thoroughly checked to eliminate any mistakes and issues during production. 
  • Working closely with suppliers on ink drawdowns, to overview the consistency of colours and finishes. 
  • Attend press approvals to ensure the quality and consistency of printed materials. 

 

Qualifications & Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on studio production experience in a corporate environment, design firm, or agency preferably experienced in the cosmetics/personal care category. 
  • Completion of post-secondary university or college degree in Graphic Design. 
  • Experience in CPG; interest in beauty preferred. 
  • Solid pre-press and print knowledge in all types of consumer packaging and marketing materials. 
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize own time to meet critical deadlines – must be able to multi-task

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Build product and operate all equipment necessary in the assembly process. Interpret/translate prints, process sheets, training documents, and other documents related to production and/or company needs. Assist and interpret the training of procedures and quality standards for new assemblers, ensuring that they are properly trained. Will assist in the re-training of assemblers as needed. Training includes, but is not limited to the following:

Performing first piece inspections as well as quality checks accompanied by the required paperwork. Identifying parts and operating all equipment used in the assembly process. Identifying and properly tagging rejected parts Setting up equipment or machines and performing simple adjustments

Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality while interpreting for Supervisors and Human Resources in the administration of performance reviews, discipline, onboarding, etc. Demonstrate ability to work successfully in a team-based environment that heavily emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, and accountability. Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
