Art Director | Avatars Responsibilities:
- Establish a unified artistic direction, vision, and high production standard in the creation of AR/VR avatar based experiences across various platforms
- Push the boundaries of how characters and humans are represented in digital form
- Work closely with engineers to explore foundational digital character and human 3D pipelines
- Lead in the collaborative development of conceptual artwork, models, style guides, sketches, storyboards and project pitches which define and convey your artistic vision
- Communicate art direction goals at an executive level with both internal and external partners
- Manage expectations for key stakeholders across RL regarding the execution of quality AR/VR character based experiences and content
- Partner with the management team to create project pitches and actionable production plans
- Regularly meet with art leads to define art quality standards
- Provide Inspiration to art staff and facilitate training opportunities to develop all art disciplines
- Oversee all art hiring, training, managing, development & resourcing
- Build a strong understanding of AR/VR experiences and coach others in successful execution in that space
- Assist in building a predictable schedule with production and cross-functional partners
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated decision making & communication skills
- Portfolio of stylized character work
- Experience leading a team and collaborating with senior and executive level leadership teams
- Hands-on experience with 3D workflows as a generalist, character artist, or art director
- 3D portfolio demonstrating an understanding of anatomy and the human form
Preferred Qualifications:
- AR/VR experience
- Experience creating character creation pipelines and flows
- Experience working with machine learning data and pipelines

- Manage, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of artists who are chartered with supporting an array of AR/VR initiatives and teams across VR at Meta
- Recruit and hire talented contributors

Commercial Casting Call
- Kids (all ethnicities) ages 6-13, should not look older than 12 years old
- Casting parents (all ethnicities) ages 30s-40s
- Kids – We are casting 4-6 kids for a comedy spot, and they will form a fake focus group. As such, they should be a very diverse cast of funny, cute, smart children. They should not be younger than actual age 7 and should not look older than screen 12 years.
- Parents – We are casting 2-4 additional people for this focus group comedy spot. They will either be parents of the children, or members of a board room reviewing the focus group. They should be a diverse cast, late 30’s – early 40’s. Should all be very corporate, buttoned up individuals. As such, could they please dress up in business attire and send us very brief videos of them giving cringey facial reactions, like they are embarrassed by what their kid is saying and are looking at their corporate boss to make sure everything is okay.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and produce page layouts that promote the client’s brand and sales objectives

Work with brand standards and guidelines

Collaborate with account manager and copywriters

Work with pagination and product mix to develop page layouts and final page production

Produce four-color and black and white page versions

Prepare final files for print and digital production

Work efficiently through high volumes, meeting tight deadlines within established budgets

Attend new project turnovers and weekly production meetings as part of client’s creative team

Propose creative concept elements for potential and new projects

Create layout comps, rough and presentation materials as requested

Maintain accuracy in page building and error-free documents

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Knowledge of creating and working with templates and style sheets; including page formatting of copy, placing photos and artwork; producing multiple versions
- Proficiency in all Mac-based, industry-standard software programs including, but not limited to: Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, Microsoft Office and Acrobat
- Knowledge of the Windows platform
- Experience with data-driven page production
- Knowledge of all steps required for the print process and an understanding of production methods to ensure designs can be produced for print delivery
- Network, Internet, Email communication systems
- General understanding and knowledge of e-marketing vehicles and specifications.
