We seek a well rounded video production specialist to join our team who is comfortable working in a highly collaborative corporate environment.

Position can be remote for now but will be required to be on location and in the studio in the Bay Area as needed. This is an ad hoc, project based position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide production support in studio, remote and on-location when needed.
  • Deep knowledge of video production, how talent on camera should look like, helping talent to set up their home equipment via video calls, including framing, lighting tips and sound quality.
  • Assist talent before and during remote recordings or livestreams.
  • Operate camera, run audio, light, run a teleprompter and maintain all production gear.
  • Operate voice overs and podcast material.
  • Operate and maintain computer systems related to video production.
  • Prep and load equipment for on-location shoots and ensure all equipment returns to the studio and storage areas.
  • Help maintain and update inventory of equipment at the studio.
  • Keep storage areas and studio organized, clean, and safe.
  • Review footage and actively seek and recommend improvements to increase production quality and streamline various workflows.
  • Ingest, organize, and hand off media to the post-production team using established workflow.
  • Assess equipment needs for upcoming productions and consult with producers and studio leads.
  • Maintain expert level status by staying up to date on current equipment and emerging production processes.
  • Assistance with location scouting when needed.
  • Conduct tests of new equipment and production concepts.
  • Work with production and editorial teams to make sure there are no issues or improvements that can be made on set.
  • Provide feedback to the studio lead of any equipment issues to be repaired.
  • Meet regularly with studio leads to ensure best practices and standards are being met.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Friendly and helpful attitude toward producers, talent and stakeholders on shoots.
  • Understanding of all steps of the production process to properly communicate with the team.
  • Respectful and clear communication with team members and stakeholders through written form as well as in person meetings.
  • Willingness to help other team members.

Assistant Video Producer, UCAN AV Studio

Seeking an individual who will support our clients’ Creative Content Managers on the AV Studio team (specifically for US/CANADA markets). Key responsibilities include being able to ensure AV creative content assets are QC’d, delivered on time for maximum impact, and supporting the overall mechanics of executing shoots and delivery of content to all internal partners. Being a passionate and excited storyteller, being hyper organized, and being collaborative are critical to the success of this position.

Ideal Candidate.

This person is someone who has the ambition of being a producer and/or editor and can multitask well. Someone who is able to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively against deadlines in a high volume environment with grace and patience. The candidate may have a history of working at a large agency or within an internal creative department at a studio (i.e. Disney’s Hive or Uni’s Inside Job). At their core, they understand project management and have an appreciation for and a passion for creativity, and most importantly for FILM. They enjoy logistics, planning, and creation relatively equally – they are excited by all aspects of the job, not just the shiny fun/glamorous parts.

The candidate is someone who is detail-oriented and able to catch small mistakes naturally: misspelling, poorly formatted documents, as well as technical errors with video (i.e dropped frames, wrong color, missing fades, wrong slate, wrong frame rate, wrong resolution etc).

This person is tech-savvy when it comes to post production workflows and software, while also

understanding the basics of production gear.

Qualifications:

This person has 3 – 4 years experience working across TV or Films in a marketing, publicity creative or production capacity. This person LOVES film, always seeks ancillary show content – searching for and scouring the internet for more. Creative content, talent interviews, everything they can get their hands on when it comes to the shows they love and watch. They are excited for the opportunity to work in a service-oriented role but have ambitions for creative excellence within a marketing or publicity capacity.

Job Summary

The Video Producer is a member of the Visual and Immersive Experiences team that is responsible for helping to research, conceptualize, plan, shoot, edit, and produce video for multiple platforms, including digital and social, that reflects EdWeek’s expertise and content standards. Under the direction of the Visuals Editor, the video producer will work alongside other producers, as well as other staff and visual colleagues to create content for multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage their time while working on multiple projects and be able to bounce nimbly between them. They’ll be able to put their storytelling and research skills to work one day on a longer-term piece, while spending the next day reacting to the news of the day to produce a quick turnaround package that meet the needs of the audience.

This is a full-time, contract position and the term of the contract is flexible. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the video team at large
  • Help conceptualize, plan, shoot, edit, and produce video for multiple platforms
  • Craft creative video explainers that meet audience needs and incorporate both graphics and video
  • Plan assignment coverage with reporters and editors
  • Hire, coordinate (“produce”), and negotiate freelance assignments with videographers
  • Work with the web and social media teams to distribute and promote our videos across platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
