Responsibilities:
- Work with content developers to edit documents for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style
- Edit and proofread technical and non-technical documents of varied length and complexity, including tables, figures, and numerical data
- Format documents to adhere to applicable style and template requirements
- Ensure drafts and final copies of documents are accurate, complete, and adhere to applicable formatting, style, and SOP requirements
- Manage and track multiple tasks as part of a complex publishing workflow with tight deadlines
- Follow, develop, recommend, and maintain editorial policies
Successful candidates will possess:
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent proofreading, copyediting, and word processing and formatting skills
- Experience editing documents in accordance with the current AP Stylebook and standard scientific style guides; familiarity with Department of Defense correspondence guidelines a plus

What you’ll be doing:Â

- Analyze, interpret, cross-check, and edit intelligence products to ensure accuracy and compliance with Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs),including but not limited to ICDs 206, 209, 501, and 710.
- Organize information and determine the optimal method of presentation; create content according to established plans.
- Ensure that completed products fulfill their specified purpose, audience, and mission scope.
- Assist in determining and supervising the production process for completed materials, overseeing workflow from draft through publication and dissemination.
- Document Operating Instructions (OIs) for command-wide programs and initiatives as assigned by the Government, standardizing editorial best practices and supporting process improvement.
Needed Experience, Skills, and Education:Â
- Minimum 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
- Master’s degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or have Bachelor’s degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master’s degree. - Work with Proposal Manager and Proposal Coordinator to complete the Editing Intake Form
- Negotiate timing and level of edit with the Proposal Manager and Proposal Coordinator as needed
- Attend meetings at the Proposal Manager’s request
- Edit according to rules of grammar, the Leidos House Style Guide, the proposal-specific style, and the level of edit and acronym treatment
- Develop and maintain acronym lists
- Perform consistency checking at least on sections that are split among multiple editors
- Complete edits in a timely manner
- Support Evaluation Notice (EN) and Final Proposal Revision (FPR) responses, as required
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, or related subject and 4+ years of editing experience. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to effectively communicate with proposal leaders and authors
- Excellent grasp of grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Experience with AP style
- Excellent comprehension of passive-to-active conversion, parallel structure, and proper placement of modifiers
- Skilled in Microsoft and Adobe products
- Able to work overtime and weekends, as required, to meet proposal schedules
- Active TS/SCI clearance

Duties include the shooting & editing of news stories to support newsgathering across linear, digital and streaming platforms. The role also includes setting up live shots, self independent or alongside reporters, and maintaining high journalistic standards. Candidates must be able to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Baltimore is a fast paced, news-soaked city, sandwiched between DC and Philadelphia. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Should be capable of troubleshooting minor equipment problems in the field and monitoring/performing basic vehicle maintenance.
- Practice a positive approach to problem-solving.
- Photojournalists will work in a variety of conditions, depending on the news cycle and assignment.
- Proven ability to edit on Grass Valley’s non-linear system (Edius) and be able to edit a 2-minute package in 30-minutes or less is preferred. The ability to consistently build a natural sound package is a plus!
- Edit content for all social platforms creatively, to a high standard, and with attention to detail.
- Proven experience in using GoPro cameras and incorporate them into daily storytelling.
- Manage & ingest media efficiently through file-sharing systems and on-site ingest stations.
- Must be willing to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
- FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone certified a very big plus. But we’ll invest in getting you certified if you’re not already.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA degree in communications or a related field is preferred along with 3-5 years of Photography/Editing experience in a newsroom.
- Ability to operate bonded cellular equipment and willing to train/operate an ENG live van.
- Must have and maintain a driver’s license in good standing.
- Â Must be able to lift, handle and work with at least 50 pounds of equipment.
