This position will be working across all of our brands from Atlanta, GA. We offer a hybrid work environment, i.e., 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely.

Summary

The focus of this role is to lead the team towards big ideas, innovative executions and new social opportunities for social organic content, social activations, and paid campaigns. Position Summary:

As the SCUA Director, you will lead a skilled and cohesive team that is already on a strong forward trajectory and is eager to push the leading edge of practice. This role collaborates closely with other library departments to strengthen SCUA’s acquisitions, digitization, teaching, outreach, conservation, and scholarship programs, and functions as an important contributing member of the Library’s leadership team. At the same time, the Director will exercise significant autonomy and independence to set and sustain leading standards and practices for the department.

As the Director, you will play a central role in the library’s philanthropic endeavors, ensuring responsible stewardship of endowed funds while actively engaging with donors. You will participate as a member of the library’s cross-divisional development team to develop and implement the library’s next major fundraising campaign and will meet regularly with the University Librarian and/or library development officers to collaborate on philanthropic strategy.

Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) is the primary repository for the University of Oregon’s archives, rare books, historic photographs, and one of the largest historical manuscripts collections in the Pacific Northwest. SCUA is also home to the Beach Conservation Lab, which works to conserve library materials while exposing students to conservation methods and education.

Our mission is to advance educational and research opportunities by acquiring, preserving, and making available a clearly defined set of primary sources and rare books, reflecting the written, visual, and audio history and culture of Oregon, the Pacific Northwest, and selected aspects of American and world history.

Summary of Position:

The Mirrored Media creative department operates as the agency’s lead for creative ideation, conceptual development, experience architecture, brand storytelling and design.

We are currently seeking a Creative Director to join our team to support creative development and management of new and existing clients and campaigns.  The Creative Director will be responsible for spearheading the creative concepting and executional design of campaigns from start to finish.  Candidates should have experience working hand-in-hand with producers and external vendors to ensure all ideas and campaign elements are feasible given client goals, timelines and budgets.  The ideal candidate for this position will have experience crafting strategic campaigns, developing innovative and first to market ideas and overseeing all multi-platform design elements and teams.

  • Serve as head of agency’s Creative Services department
  • Own full creative campaign cycles from RFP to execution to post-mortem

Our client, a leading global experience agency, is in search of freelance Senior Art Director for upcoming client needs. This will be hybrid in Chicago.

Type: Contract

Location: Chicago – hybrid schedule

Pay Range: $40-45/hr.

Overview on who you are:

  • Creative thinker with an emphasis on visual expression.
  • Developed design skills that move beyond layout within graphic standards into limited graphic design.
  • Must be Client Facing.
  • Can participate in client meetings with limited oversight.
  • Can work with CDs, strategists and BLs to shape initial strategy of campaign.
  • Generates and owns over-arching creative concepts, looks, logos, idea videos, case studies etc.
  • Participates on edits, builds and shoots with senior creative oversight from ACD or higher.
  • Problem solvers able to operate with very little oversight.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for concepting with the integrated team to deliver the best, most innovative creative ideas while maintaining a cohesive brand voice/identity.
  • Supporting of concepts and layouts with clear rationale.
  • Collaborate with team and offer innovative ideas for creative briefs and strategy.
  • Track multiple parallel deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Successful execution of activations within established budgets and timeframe and on strategy.
  • Partners successfully with other creatives and across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Presents work internally.
  • Actively participates/contributes to brainstorms.
  • Stay abreast of industry and technology trends.
  • Articulates vision, idea, objectives to vendor.
  • Attends on-site visits and shoots as needed to ensure the vision come to life.
  • Becomes client facing with supervision from CD and above.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • College degree with focus in Art Direction, preferred
  • 6+ year of experience
  • Innovative concepting skills and great presentation skills
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Natural communicator with strong visual and verbal presentation skills
  • Positive attitude, genuine team player and a self-starter and go-getter attitude

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lead and take ownership of a variety of projects across digital and print under tight deadlines.

  • On-set art direction of photo and video shoots by collaborating with photographers, stylists, creative directors and other members of the creative team.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in Creative Arts or Graphic Design.
  • 5+ years of experience directing photo shoots.
  • 5+ digital and print graphic design experience in luxury, fashion, e-commerce merchandising.
  • Understanding of emerging platforms and new forms of content creation
  • Well-versed in social media / marketing trends
  • Proficient with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • A deep love for creative, storytelling, and exceptional customer experiences
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of fashion, culture, competitors, trends, and consumer cultural shifts to inform creative strategy decisions.
  • Understanding of print and digital
  • Develop and evolve our visual guidelines for the brand.
