Casting Call: Stand-Ins for The Up & Comer Movie

Job Description:

ExtraOrdinary Casting is seeking experienced stand-ins for the upcoming film The Up & Comer, filming in Chicago and its surrounding areas. We are looking for professional, dependable individuals who have significant experience working as stand-ins, with a strong understanding of working as 2nd team for talent and directors, particularly for lighting and technical rehearsals. You will need to have open availability from early October to early November. This is an excellent opportunity to be a key part of the production team for an entire month.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a stand-in for lead and supporting actors, ensuring proper lighting and camera setups.
  • Work closely with the film’s directors and crew to facilitate smooth technical rehearsals.
  • Follow direction closely and maintain professionalism throughout the day.
  • Be available for the full month of October through early November, except weekends (Saturdays & Sundays off).
  • Willingness to travel to multiple locations around Chicago, including downtown, North Suburbs, and Gary, Indiana (transportation is required).

  3. Male Utility Stand-In
    • Actor: Andrew Burnap (Playing Tyler, 5’9-5’10)
    • Requirements: Caucasian male, 5’9-5’10, brown hair. Dates required: 10/9, 10/14, 10/25, 10/31, 11/1, 11/4, 11/5, 11/6.

Requirements:

  • Experienced Stand-Ins only: Must have prior stand-in experience and be able to work with talent, directors, and the crew for lighting, camera setups, etc.
  • Professional, punctual, and able to follow direction.
  • Must match the height and general appearance of the actors being stood in for (within 1 inch of listed height).
  • Comfortable with long filming days, and capable of working overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to provide your own transportation to the various filming locations.
  • For female roles: Bring a variety of comfortable shoe heights (flats and heels).

Compensation:

  • Rate: $170.00 for up to 8 hours, with time and a half for overtime (likely to go into overtime most days).
