The VP, Creative Director leads the creative effort for a significant number of accounts and new business efforts at the assigned office.
COPY
- Responsible for the clear articulation of the brand narrative
- Responsible for communicating all enhancements and nuances of the brand to the clients and team members
- Responsible for ensuring all elements of the brand are working in harmony in a consistent way
CONCEPTING
- Actively participate in the development of a creative brief
- Work with an assigned creative team to give constructive direction to sharpen the work
- Make creative decisions to help focus his/her creative team
PRESENTING
- Responsible for the team’s final output of presentations that are well thought out and delivered on time, allowing for proper presentation prep and rehearsal
- Develop creative strategy slides to help sell the work in
TEAM INTERACTION/MANAGEMENT
- Conduct creative leadership review prior to deliverable submission to internal review
- Streamline team’s resources and communications and works to find ways to remove day to day barriers and burdens from his/her team
- Utilizing discovery and kick-off meetings, ensures complete and thorough understanding of project ask before initiating work
- Partner with account team when problems occur and proactively works to come to the best solution that serves both client and agency needs
- Secure strategic partner buy-in for foundational content projects including video, web sitemaps, detail aids, etc.
- Establish and maintains communication throughout lifecycle of all projects
- Proactively communicates any anticipated delay of deliverables against deadline
- Take time to work with his/her direct reports on both areas in need of improvement as well as teaching them to leverage inherent assets
- Deliver constructive feedback, early/often and in-person
PRODUCT AND CONTENT KNOWLEDGE
- Understand product, category and competition so that can easily participate in any strategic discussion
- Developed and demonstrate a thorough ownership of the brand narrative, key messages and data along with the ability to verbally communicate it internally and to clients
- Utilize his/her experience across different therapeutic categories to help guide team and offer new perspective to client
STRATEGY
- Understand the agencies strategic direction. Stays abreast of industry drivers. Keeps up to date on key client’s challenges, opportunities and competition
- Is a key contributor alongside of the account lead and is working to establish long-term relationships that enable trust, pushback, better work, referrals etc.
- Take an active interest in clients’ market and develops a sound knowledge of clients’ product and target audiences. Keeps current with industry trends
- Educate clients on the value of branding and marketing communications. Works with account and planning team to understand and develop solid strategies for client initiatives
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Dive enthusiastically into new business opportunities and brings ideas and new thinking to the table to secure wins
- Participate actively on business development initiatives representing the creative department
- Display competent and convincing client presentation skills without supervision
CREATIVE AGENCY LEADERSHIP
- Take responsibility for outcomes and guide team in decision making
- Is clear and consistent in direction and is a role model for the rest of the team in terms of work ethic and dependability
- Mentor junior members of the agency and direct them toward the overall vision for the agency
- Review portfolio, interview candidates and work toward the growth of the department and the larger organization
Minimum Required
Bachelor’s degree
Appropriate portfolio
10-years design related experience in advertising or marketing agency
Managed client interactions
Advanced conceptual ability with sophisticated design sense
Healthcare industry/medical field experience
Knowledge of Mac OS platform
