This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a historical production set in the 1880s. As a background extra, you will be dressed in period costumes and play townsfolk, socialites, and other members of society from the Gilded Age era.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray various background roles set in the 1880s, including townspeople, social elites, and workers.
• Attend a mandatory costume fitting prior to filming.
• Be prepared to be on set for long filming days, taking direction and adhering to the historical setting of the production.
• Maintain authenticity with costumes, hairstyles, and behaviors reflective of the 1880s.

Requirements:

• Must be a local to Newport, Rhode Island, or the surrounding areas.
• Comfortable working around smoke and have no allergies to wool (as wool costumes may be used).
• No visible tattoos and no buzz cuts or modern hairstyles (natural hair colors only; no highlights).
• Men must be okay with period-accurate haircuts, and women will be fitted with corsets and bustles.
